A new form of AIDS has been discovered in Los Angeles, one which is untreatable.
Reasearchers have warned of the appearance of new strains of HIV, which due to patients abusing treatment programmes, have developed into super viruses which do not react to tradtional retroviral treatment.
It is claimed by the National Institutes of Health and the University of California that these super viruses are spreading fast in San Franciso among both the heterosexual and homosexual communities.
The reasearchers blame the attitude of average Americans for the current situation, stating that people have stopped taking the disease seriously and have ceased to practice safe sex.
Also therapies with drugs are not being respected, with patients in many cases beginning treatment and suspending during its course, making the virus multi-resistant to future therapies.
The researchers also claim that tens of thousands of people living in San Francisco have the new virus and that it is the new, multi-resistant strain of the virus which is passed on.
Given that California was one of the first focal points in the worldwide AIDS epidimic, it would be logical to assume that the same phenomenon will appear elsewhere in the coming years.
Given that the HIV virus is the one of the fastest to mutate, this seems like more of a certainty than a possibility.
Boy, you are new around here.
No, the moderators are watching so don't worry yourself. After you've been here a while you'll get the feeling for what is tolerable and what is not.
The problem is, the "gay community" doesn't want to do what it takes to stop it.
A$$ Injected Death Sentence
He flew to SF, NYC, Miami, etc, and enjoyed the variety of bathhouses in each. It was noted that he was above
average in the number of times he could do it a night as well.
This sick puppy also became aware that he was spreading what was known at the time as the "gay cancer", and he
still continued infecting people.
I think his first name was Gatean, FWIW.
Urban Myth?
No.............at least as far as I know.
This guy was prominently featured in the movie "AND THE BAND PLAYED ON" based on the book by the same name written by an 'investigative reporter' about the early days of the AIDS epidemic (early '80's). This was a somewhat sympathetic retelling of circumstances so I have no reason to doubt this part of the story........................
Patient Zero, an Epidemiological term as in "Ground Zero" or "point of origin", was indeed a VERY PROMISCUOUS gay Canadian flight attendant. All cases of AIDS in America were traced to him. He caught it overseas somewhere and proceeded to spread it in every Port-o-Call his jet-set life-style took him to. Thanks, a$$hole.
In 1983 I moved to California (changed jobs) and the biggest controversey at the time was the closing of the Bath Houses in San Francisco (Boy's Town). Nothing was done due to cries of DISCRIMINATION by the gay lobby groups.
In the early part of the 1900's we had a huge influenza epidemic that killed millions of people. At this time they closed even movie theaters in the US so as to stop the spread of the disease. People didn't go out at tha time and protest their 'lost rights'. In fact, it made perfect sense and probably saved a lot of lives.
This whole thing could have been stopped, or at least severely limited, if we had taken time-tested, age-old measures of isolation and containment.
Then why is the percentage of lesbians with AIDS so small? Does that make them the chosen people?
I take this with a grain of salt. Likely it is more propaganda to ensure the AIDS industry remains viable. Follow the money.
His name was Gaetan Dugas. He was among the first known HIV carriers, although he died of something else - liver failure, I believe. Big bathhouse fan, according to Randy Shilts, but in serious denial as to whether he had what was then called the Gay Plague.
His flight itineraries included the cities you mention, initial AIDS hotbeds, but it's kind of unlikely he could have been the cause - more likely just a high-visibility contributor to an existing problem. Turns out the math isn't quite right, epidemiologically, but Shilts, a newspaper reporter, didn't know that (BTW, Shilts himself died of AIDS some years after the publication of And The Band Played On, a book that was bitterly critical of the early 80s gay political establishment in San Francisco for allowing the bathhouses to remain open.)
.....Likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust for one another, men with men committing what is shameful, and receiving in themselves the penalty of their error which was due. ...... Romans 1:27
That one is worth reporting IMHO. But most likely the moderators have it under control without help. This forum is a little rough at times and you will learn which posters are somewhat rough. This thread was one that dealt with human sexuality that is not the most easy to talk about (and rightly so). Perhaps you might want to consider that when looking for a thread to read next time. "Fag" is one of the milder terms used to describe their activity. IMHO it is correctly used numerously times in this thread..
