Quite true, unfortunately. However, don't force people into the enemy camp if you don't have to. It's bad strategy.

You can make a very good case it caused Germany to lose WWII. Many, if not most, Russians would have been glad to welcome the invaders till they found that (difficult to believe, but true) they were even worse (for Russians) than the Commies.
