-- Neither the United States nor any State shall establish any official religion, but the people’s right to pray and to recognize their religious beliefs, heritage, and traditions on public property, including schools, shall not be infringed.

Great. I can just see it now. Little Hindu kids stopping in the middle of the day to pray to eight armed statues. Little Mohommed laying down his blanket on the classroom floor a few times a day. Public school teachers wearing burkas.

Look, I'm all for the Judeo-Christian God in the public schools, but I realize that I am never going to get it exclusively my way. This is why I am against the entire concept of public schools and their very existance. If any teacher started mentioning Vishnu or Allah in any classroom a child of mine were in, there would be SERIOUS trouble. This amendment opens the door to that very thing.

You have to understand that public school teachers, like any government employee, in their official capacity are NOT the people. They are the state. Government employees in their official capacity are LIMITED by the people, they are not one of them.

The 1st amendment is fine as is. Leave the constitution alone.
