In Canton, Ms. Nisson wanted to build a plant.
People were forced to relocate so they could used their land.
They can relocate people, but not frogs. Please.

OH MY MAGOG!
A frog died in CA .... on a developed area.
.... Therefore, we must arrest the developer.
(Do these enviro's ever consider that frogs die all the time in the wild?)

I see. We sure wouldn't want emotionally charged words to get in the way. Can you back up this weak sarcasm by pointing to some "emotionally charged" words I used in Post #98 or was this just a pathetic passive-aggressive way for you to try to back out of the argument? Let me know,

'bout as natural as running over box turtle or a snake in the road.

I don't think many people run over critters on the hwy. on purpose.
But, if you make it illegal to do so, there'll be a bloodbath.

The frog is believed to be the one Mark Twain made famous in his short story That frog is very old for a frog, and seems to have gotten pretty far all things considered.

Also, my dogs kill every snake, frog, rabbit, armadillo, skunk, coon, squirrel and any other critter they can chase down.
I guess they're almost human. lol

I'm not backing out of anything. You made your points and I made mine. If "Environmentalist" isn't emotionally charged, I don't know what is. Keep it going if you want.

And....my mini Dachshund kills mice. She likes frogs, she licks them, but won't usually kill them. When the big dogs see that she's got one at bay, they take over and it soon becomes dead. Dead as a doornail.
I tell them they should read more about preservation, but they can't read. They're dogs.

You know how many chickens would be around if we stopped using them for food? Answer: None
You know how many cattle would be around if we stopped using them for food, etc? Answer: None
Stop riding and eating horses: no more horses
Stop eating corn?.....no more corn
If you want more frogs, eagles, condors, sucker fish, put a price on their head. Make them economically beneficial.
Ever see a catfish farm?? Thought not.
Ever see a crawfish farm?? Thought not.
Ever see any kind of farm?? Only in enviro-target books? Thought so.

That is exactly what the environazis did in San Francisco to delay, stall and wildly increase the price of the BART extension to the SF Airport. Twice, no less.

Just think of all the critters you kill every day just walking around hunting sprouts to eat.
What size critter do you draw the line behind? Let's save 'these' but 'those' are fair game...lol
That one's ugly, it's gotta go.
Oh look at the cute litle seal. Club time.

They held up Interstate 10 down here because of some stupid whooping crane.
Evidently it wasn't necessary because the hwy. is there now.

So, I really wonder about the status of the Red-Legged Frog, and whether or not habitat destruction is the only significant culprit. Bullfrogs are well established throughout California, and I wonder what there populations are over the Red-Legged Frog's former range. Here is your key piece of information:
Bullfrogs predate red legged frogs. Now you know why Fish & Game doesn't regulate bull frogs:
It would be bad for "business" ... theirs.
