From what I have seen, there is some evidence that the Republican base hasn't been as gung ho in elections subsequent to 1994, but that hasn't been the primary reason that elections haven't gone as well. The ability of Democrats to get out their core vote has been markedly higher than the previously established historic norms.

It is unpleasant to think that the main thing that has changed is outside of our control, but the numbers seem to suggest that. Take New Jersey. It had been a state that Republicans could win. It generally went with Republicans come Presidential election time, and Republicans had shown an ability to win the governorship.

Bret Schundler ran a campaign that would appeal to the conservative core. His opponent ran as a typical Democrat.

It wasn't nearly as close as it should have been.

We need to figure out how to get the vote out. Some think the way to do it is to appeal to "the base" and adhere more strictly to Republican core philosophy. Some think the way to do it is to be more centrist.

I can't pretend to know which will work better.

Rush just played the speeches of a number of women house members and they all used this phrase or a facsimile, "This sham bill is especially bad for senior women."

I heard those clips, rolled into one clip. Are they transparent, or what? They make me sick.

It's incredibly sad that these utterly stupid hags can get elected to congress and a deeply disturbing commentary on the electorate, at large.
