Scott Sullivan, the 40-year-old financial brain accused of the devastating profit-rigging at WorldCom, went into seclusion yesterday but progress continued at his palatial hideaway being built in Boca Raton, Fla. The private compound, hidden in a gated enclave, has a sprawling main mansion and five other houses on the 4.1-acre waterfront grounds. Sullivan was the chief financial officer of the long-distance dud for nine years - until he was booted this week. He is said to be the architect of its heavy-handed scheme to cook up nearly $4 billion in cash flow that never existed. It kept the company afloat for a while until an eagle-eyed WorldCom accountant, Cynthia Cooper, blew the whistle... From another article posted here on F.R. It's amazing how quickly a person can turn bad -- cooking up 4 bil. in fraud starting in Feb. of 2000? I'll buy that! (NOT!)
