I doubt the photo is faked. The headband gives it away, it isn't of the Jihadi groups—probably the secular bunch whose headquarters this photo came from.

Also, the physical positioning is real, and the kid looks very bewildered.

Anyhow, they dress older children up so I don't know what the big deal is. I mean, really, I've seen lots of photos like this, just not this young.

I cannot understand why people are shocked by this photo. The NY Post ran a horrific cover photo of several children dressed up in Jihadi green several months back.

Maybe because this kid has NO idea of what he is being used for.

I'll let someone else tell you it's been stated today that the photo is a "joke", so, according to your reasoning powers you need a trip to the kitchen - open refrigerator door - pull out egg - slap yerself with it in the face for being such a snot.

The pic here is clear enought that we can tell who pulled this shiite. The Bandana is from Hezbullah. (similar to some flags I say in DC during the last "Peace" rally).

These people joyfully sacrifice their children for a few dollars from some Saudi "prince/s" who has money to burn. Obviously human sacrifice, including that of their own children, means nothing to them. So this picture of an infant strapped with a bomb should come as no surprise. If they could train it to denonate the bomb, and direct it to it's target even at this age, they would do so for just a few dollars more.

Think about it. If they were doing it for Allah , they would not accept the check from the rich Saudi "prince's" now would they?

I have just come back from Jordan, and there was a lot of anti-Palestinian feeling there, as well. (A "we don't want any more of them here" thing. "They are just trying to run away from their problems and come here ... Turn them back at the border ... ")

But there is some sort of rising tide of racism in all directions. It is so general, and roused by so many causes, that it is hard to explain. I think that there is also a huge amount of latent anti-Semitisim on the Christian right, waiting for the moment to appear. At the moment, these forces appear to be quite pro-Israel, but if American policy in the M.E. sees serious difficulties, I think that Israel will suddenly become the scapgoat.

There are far too many people on FR who fail to comprehend that most Muslims are not Islamists and that many Arabs (especially in the US) are Christian.

I think you misunderstand. They are confused that an Arab child would have these features. Dark or olive skin and brown or brown eyes are the norm.
The hatred is not towards the child, but the family that would do this.

Aside from exiles from what is now Saudi Arabia, many bedoiuns, and some Circas, aren't all Jordanians Palestinian? I mean untill 1923, Jordan was 2/3 of Palestine. After 1948 and 1967 hundreds of thousands of Arabs from the other side of the Jordan river came to Jordan.
Is this an ethnic problem or simply a poor people fed up with immigrants?

Humans eveolved in small related groups. Racism is part of the human condition.

For the past 40 years, the issue has been Christians loving Jews to demographic death from intermarriage and conversions. This is not to say that certain sects are still theologically anti-Jewish or that there are rascist individuals.
Should it become clear that Jews won't all convert, things might change.
