I've always thought that what the government funds, they will eventually control.

It's not just a thought, it's a fact. Vouchers will destroy private schools, not only through government intervention, but by forcing them to accept the public school dregs.

Yes, this is what I've been talking about. Up to this point, private schools have had a choice on whom to admit, and under what conditions they can expel students. Now, with Federal money coming in, people are going to start saying that the private schools can't discriminate if they accept vouchers at all. Private schools will have to prove they don't discriminate, and since in many, many cases an existing imbalance of students (sex, race, handicaps, ethnic origin) is prima facie evidence of discrimination, they'll have to start admitting students with an eye towards balancing their student body's configuration. They'll also start getting their hands tied if they want to expel a kid who's a real a$$hole, but can be perceived to be in a protected class.

Be careful what you wish for. You just might get it.
