Card Sharks-House Conservatives Telling WH Chief of Staff to Leave
US News and World Report ^ | June 27, 2002 | Paul Bedard

House Conservatives want White House chief of staff Andy Card to go.

They claim he's too much of a compromiser.

The latest tiff:

Card told Republicans last week that while Democrats aren't jumping to create the new Department of Homeland Security, Minority Leader Dick Gephardt's 'heart is in the right place.'

Says one critic:

'If he doesn't check out at the the end of the year, our guys will ride him until he does.'

Yes, but it resembles a small, dessicated cat turd.

I don't know whether this particular anecdote is true or not, but I'm not counting on Bedard to get it right. The "Washington Whispers" column is a classic example of a spin device. Any inside baseball news is non-sourced, and probably made up.

Card is from Massachusetts and we know that is strong Demoncrat country. Don't like him for a lot of reasons and he definitely reeks with phoniness. He gotta go.

Could be revenge on the White House for not notifying J.C. Watts on the military closing in his district.

Watts is in line to be appropriations head for the new Homeland Security Dept. and this may be a kick in the pants to get moving..

That takes balls. The people demanding Card leave are largely the same gutless wonders who roll over for the Liberals in Congress. They want it both ways.

I would be very happy if Andy Card went back to the People's Republic of Massachusetts, where he fits in.

The White House Chief of Staff position is one of the most powerful positions in the world, and personnel IS policy!! It was obvious to anyone who knew the facts before 2000 that the appointment of Card was going to be a disaster for the conservative agenda...and it certainly has been.

I hope it is true that Congressmen are pushing for his removal.

Maybe it's Card who has hid all the veto pens from the President, so he can't find them!? ;-)

Card wanted desparately to be the cabinet head of homeland security - he reminds me of a two year old who has lost his teddy bear. He is a waste of useful air.
