In this country we enjoy freedom OF religion. Not freedom FROM religion. Get it?

They are the same thing when it comes to the use of Government power and tax dollars. While you are free to practice almost any religion you choose, if tax dollars extorted from you by threat of force are used to support any religion you do not have "freedom OF religion".

What they see occurring here is the "better to elect moderate Republicans than moderate Dems" mindset. That's is just plain foolishness; we already know that moderate R's vote lockstep with liberal D's.

Er... there have been a lot of party line, or near party line, votes on clear liberal/conservative issues. And the battle is most intense when it comes to the courts, because they wield so much power. Why else would Senate Judiciary Committee Democrats so doggedly keep Bush's judicial nominees bottled up in committee? Surely it is not always because the Democrats on that committee all disagree with the proposed judge... all it would take would be one Democrat to break and side with the Republicans to free up the logjam.

Unfortunately, This is just a continuance of A group of judges that do not care about morals, or anything else. Remember, over 90% of their rulings have been overturned. This just shows us how grossly stupid the extremist liberals are and what they will try to do to get their way.

OK...while I agree with pretty much everything you've said here, I hope your definition of "Bush-bot" is different from mine. Because someone who always supports the president, and never criticizes him or his administration is acting in a counter-productive manner.

The administration has a lot of people in it. The president needs our feedback when they go astray. Failure to provide this in the 1970s when Nixon was giving us abominations like "Wage & Price Controls" is what got us into this mess to begin with, and is what got us this particular judge.

So, yes, we should all try to get Republicans elected, and regain the Senate, but, no, we should not become "Bush-bots."

I also think we ought to get these two judges impeached!

That, for me, is the most piss in the eyeballs maddening part. NOT ONE NEWS ORGINIZATION has been pointing out that the 9th circuit is pretty much considered a Rogue Court by SCOTUS.....

This is an open plea to all FReepers, and pardon me if it has been posted on this thread already.

Write your Congresscritters, send it by fax (it'll take weeks by snail mail - anthrax checking). Tell them you want a Constitutional Amendment so no court can ever do this again!!

A suggested form for the Amendment follows:

Article 1: There shall be allowed a Pledge of Allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and it will take the form:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation, under God, with liberty, and justice, for all."

Article 2: Congress shall enact the necessary legislation to effect the language of this Amendment.

Article 3: This Article will become a part of the Constitution of the United States with the concurrence of three-fourths of the several states within seven years of its submission thereto by the Congress.

I think this means 90% of their rulings that have gotten called up by the Supreme Court... still, that's a ghastly large number.

IF you are going to go thru all the trouble of amending the Constitution, go the Whole Hog, and add the founding principles from the DOI.

In summary, the judges and/or council of judges of the court in question are expected to police themselves even to the point of recommending impeachment.

Marvelous.

Not long ago problems like this, for both plaintiff and judges, would have been corrected with fence rails, tar and feathers.

Now the annointed ones in black robes judge each other.
