if it is an effective treatment, you will likely see it suppressed. the cancer industry is far too lucrative to allow for a cure.

dont flame me, do your own investigation. see: www.lef.org

Sadly you are probably right. Just look at what happened to IM CLONE......not that the cure for cancer didn't work but that there were technical difficulties with the application. Instead of working with the company to clear up the problems and facilitate quick review, they destroyed the company.

So, I've heard the main cause of cancer in Lab mice is...
RESEARCH.

;^)

Good post; interesting stuff, and here's wishing it all leads to real progress in cancer treatment some day.

Huh?.... the "tin-foil" is a bit tight on my head but I'm sure that the "conspiracy for money vs. cure for cancer" is so bogus. How many drug company executives and their families have died of cancer do you think? Plenty. I'm in the medical/money/ establishment and would have loved to have cured my father of lung cancer, my aunt with leukiemia....etc..

By the way florescene would stain bright with a UV light and is what we stain eyes for when we suspect a corneal abrasion. So I guess the cancer patients would shine bright lime-yellow under UV light and the area with the cancer would be easy to see. I wonder what toxin they attach to the "trojan" horse to kill the cancer that wouldn't kill normal tissue.

"if it is an effective treatment, you will likely see it suppressed. the cancer industry is far too lucrative to allow for a cure"
.

You speak the truth but try and convince an allopathic fan. They are content to have symptons supressed and repeat office visits. If enough "medication" is taken, you'll have liver damage and you can get in line for a new liver. Of course your "treating" doctor will be happy to refer you to a "friend" of his so that he/she may make some money off of you too as you continue to take liver damaging drugs. Also imagine all the people it would out out of work? Or the drug companies for that matter? Naw, "conventional" doctors will figure out a way to villify this potential cure.

As for me, it's a Naturopathic. I HAD Graves' disease and only had symptons addressed. Since going to a Naturopath I am in remission and NO more antibodies destroying my thyroid. Of course my Endo wanted to ablate it with RAI and I told him where he could go. Good grief! I've had other minor problems - cycsts on an ovary. Well they wanted to partially castrate me (remove one ovary) I declined. I let them do the diagnositic part and run to my Natruopath. He removed it through supplements. NO "medication" or drugs.

Come on Dick ...

You: "Purdue ..... in Forth Worth, Texas... huh?"

Try reading it before you discredit it:

"FORT WORTH, Texas -- There has been a major breakthrough in the fight against cancer, according to Purdue University researchers, who said that they have cured 200 lab mice. "

Maybe alittle help is in order. Purdue is not in Fort Worth Texas and that is not what sentence is stating. It is being reported FROM Fort Worth Texas ABOUT Purdue University. Hope this helps.

Hi OldFriend,

I was at one time a Review Chemist at FDA, vested with application review and issuance of portions of approval or deficiency letters which follow such reviews.

The approval process for new drugs is not quite as cut-and-dried as you appear to believe that it is. FDA does not approve or diapprove a drug per se. They approve or disapprove what one can say about the drug in label claims and advertising (efficacy) and judge what side effects or negative effects might be posed by the medication itself of if used in combination with another medication (safety.) Again, these are all labeling issues. The FDA is authorized to prevent mis-branding of drug and food products. False claims and therapeutic mis-representation statutorilly constitute "mis-branding."

What ImClone wanted to claim about the efficacy of their drug Erbitux was not adequately demonstrated by the clinical data they furnished. They oversold the claims to investors the same way they would have done to the public at large.

I did see a small article in the paper last week that the drug may yet be approved.

Considering the critical need it would seem that the problems should have been worked out in a non adversarial way. LIVES ARE AT STAKE.

Well I pray and hope that this indeed is a cure. I have lost a sister and one of my brothers to cancer, as I am sure just about every family has and the hell they go through to survive is heartbreaking.

Sounds like the FDA infringes on the First Amendment right of free speech. I would rather be able to make my own decisions than have the FDA decide these things for me.

Just look at what happened to IM CLONE...

My better half worked for a company which perfected a vehicle location device that did not rely on GPS. The investors decided to defund the entire operation just at the point when the engineers had miniturized the components from the size of a large walk-in freezer to the size of a small radio. Instead of hanging in there with the engineers after they had accomplished the impossible, they threw in the towel.

Sorry to hear that. What hospital were they in and what did they have? There are so many new treatments coming out nowadays. But it seems each case is as unique as the treatment it requires.

There are treatments available that actually do reverse and eliminate cancer. Not the chemotherapy or other methods used by modern medicine.

Succesful treatment (meaning elimination of cancer and no reoccurence) addresses the persons fatty degeneration (conditions brought about through the consumption of bad fats and the inadequate consumption of good fats, the essential fatty acids). The omega 3 essential fatty acid, and derivatives of both omega 3 and omega 6 EFAs inhibit tumor growth. When the bodies essential fatty acid levels are corrected and maintained, cancer disappears and does not come back.

The essential fatty acids (Omega 3 and Omega 6) are so important to our bodies that when we do not have enough intake, our bodies break down. They are labeled as essential, because our body cannot make them on it's own, but the EFA's are used in every cell in our body.

Over time, fatty degeneration causes many known illnesses. Using the knowledge now known about EFAs, there have been successful treatments of diseases that "modern" medicine still labels "incurable", including such illnesses as cancer, diabetes and multiple sclerosis.

There are many symptoms of fatty degeneration that are not as severe as the major illnesses, but are important to address as well. Specific deficiencies in EFAs give different symptoms.

The foremost authority on EFAs, Udo Erasmus, has studied the medical research on fats for the last two decades. His book, Fats that Heal, Fats that Kill is a very exhaustive and informative treatise on the subject and I highly recommend it to everyone. His topics cover the entire spectrum of fats in our diet, and includes specific chapters devoted to specific diseases, including cancer.

An article that provides a summary of the information contained in his book is Fats That Heal Fats That Kill The Complete Lecture. Pulling from Udo's website, here is a list of some EFA deficiency symptoms:

EFA DEFICIENCY

Every cell, tissue, gland, and organ will fail to function if sufficient levels of omega-6 EFA's are not present in the diet. In the past, such deficiency was rare, but since the advent of low-fat diets, lack of omega-6's has become much more common. Omega 6 deficiency causes the following symptoms:

1. Skin, hair, and nails become defective, leading to ...

2. Organs fall apart, resulting in ...

3. The brain falls apart, bringing about many changes, including ...

4. Glands dry up, failing to make their vital hormones and secretions

5. The immune system falls apart, producing ...

6. The reproductive system falls apart, and we get ...

7. Our joints fall apart, manifesting as ...

8. The cardiovascular system falls apart, resulting in ...

9. Digestion falls apart, leading to ...

10. Growth becomes retarded.

The above list shows some of the serious health concerns from lack of essential omega 6 fats.

They are an absolute necessity for life.

Adequate Omega 6 intake reverses all of these deficiency symptoms
.

Omega 3 deficiency causes:

"...I wonder what toxin they attach to the "trojan" horse to kill the cancer that wouldn't kill normal tissue."

Well, if I read the article correctly, there is no 'toxin' attached to the trojan other than the florescene which fixes to the cancerous cells and attracts the attention of the body's natural immune system which then moves the white blood cells in for the kill.

Isn't there a rule against commercial promotions on this site? www.lef.org is a vitamin peddling storefront.

Funny how those who scream the loudest about greedy drug companies and doctors are the same ones who run these exceptionally profitable vitamin and herb shops (and chiropractic offices, and homeopathic pharmacies, and crystal therapy shops, etc.) This is greedy big business on a grand scale; the only difference is none of their crap works.

Gullible, desperate, dying cancer patients believe this hokum and hand over big dollars. All they get in return is very expensive piss.

Targeting antibodies to various cell surface markers is nothing new. Unfortunately, it hasn't worked all that well in practice. Cancer cells down may not express certain receptors, or stop making the receptors once antibodies start binding to the cell. There are many kinds of cancers and many causes.

As for the alt.med. types, the idea that cancer cures are suppressed to keep making money for doctors is as absurd as the 100 mile carb suppressed by oil industry, or the engine that runs on water, etc. etc. All the extravagant claims of the naturopaths and other natural cancer cures are anecdotal reports, and virtually none of the claims stand up to a scientific examination. I do not waste my time trying to argue with the quacks, since it is impossible by definition. One of the worst is Joel Walach on CBS radio, who is a total charlatan. Personally, I do not care if you want to waste your money on them but be advised. As for the poster who was miraculously cured of Graves disease, you can believe what you want, but having dealt with patients supposedly cured of Graves disease by various quack remedies, I have found that the reasons for the 'cure' include misdiagnosis of thyroiditis, which resolves, with Graves disease, burn out of the disease, and administration of supposedly natural remedies which include beta blockers, a drug which blocks some of the effects of excess thyroid hormone.
