But no one is requiring the children to say

One Nation under Allah...
One Nation under Buddha...
One Nation under Yahweh...

or even...

One Nation under Jesus...

I believe your argument is flawed...

I ask again, why couldn't this child just omit the offensive phrase when SHE recited the pledge. Why did her father embark on this quest to violate EVERYONE'S right to say it????

because the Bible says even Satan "believes" in God. It's not enough for people to say they believe. You gotta walk the walk not just talk the talk. And believe me, walking the walk does not involve tolerating sin or becoming a doormat. Jesus was no doormat, he advised his followers to sell their shirts to buy swords if they had to. I used to be an atheist/agnostic/whatever too. I got over that selfish little part of my life and grew up to know that I wasn't the one running the show. And that part just kills a non-believer, the thought that THEY aren't the most important thing around.

Coulld you please explain how indicating that our nation is one, under God-as it was founded-is equivalent to praising Mohammed or sacrificing animals?

I hope decent, real Americans make this guy's life a living hell.

Anybody who does won't be either "decent",OR a "real American". This ain't a religious police state.

Maybe he will find more kindred spirits in, say, North Korea.

I think YOU would be more comfortable living there. YOU are the one wanting to force everybody to believe the same things.

PLEASE explain why someone like you who is a "non-believer" wants to destroy the right of others to say the Pledge of Allegiance instead of just keeping their mouths shut and refusing to say it themselves.

Now, GG, it's only fair that less than a million people get to tell the other 279,000,000 of us what we can and can do.

Daddy didn't want his little baby to feel "left out," so he's perfectly content to let 279,000,000 people be left out.

Well if he is gay he's pretty stupid. I mean think about it.. his daughter doesn't have to recite but is "forced" as he says to listen to it. Hmm so I take it that he should stop being gay because we are "forced" to watch their gay pride parades... I'm not bashing him for being gay.. those that have seen me in other threads know that if he wants to sail his boat in the opposite direction but if he his gay it makes his whole arguement moot.

How about if the school had a few animal sacrifices to satisfy the "equal time" requests of the parents who belived in Voo Doo?

I didn't believe in football (a sanguinary cult), but they required sacrifices to it.

Psssssst! .. Sneakypete only, everyone else back off! XXX Girls Girls Girls XXX.

apparently you didn't read that post about schoolchildren being forced to pretend to be Muslims for a few weeks. Public school children are forced into the religion of liberalism every single day. And BTW, Muslims DO believe in a God called Allah. Jews believe in God, Christians believe in God, pretty much everybody except you guys. You chose to live in a country founded on a belief in GOD. Get over it or leave.

We are under God.

What's this "we" stuff? Speak for yourself.

Then again, removing the "under God" part hurts nothing at all. Nor does it take anything away from the Pledge of Allegience to have it removed.

Yes it does. It takes away our freedom. You want it removed, do it properly. Repeal the first amendment.

This is not about God being mentioned. It is about the freedom to mention God.

I don't care if kids say "under God" or not. Doesn't matter to me which, if any, prayers are said in school. But I want those who care to express their faith to have the right to do so.

That was the intent of the first amendment. That was the history of religious liberty in America for over 150 years.

No accident religion began to be pushed out of the public square as soon as Marxists began to gain power in our government.

You're welcome, GG. It just simply amazes me that the people on this thread cannot understand that there are so many references to God in our patriotic sayings such as

"In God We Trust" (if they don't like that, they can forward their money to me)
"God Bless America" (I guess we could take the word God out..but wait...we'd then have to take the word Bless out because we all know that God bestows blessings on us, so we just might end up with "America")
"The Battle Hymn of the Republic" because that definitely refers to GOD. So off with that song.
Putting your hand on the Bible to swear to "tell the truth, the whole truth and nothing but the truth so help me God" would have to be abolished. Maybe we could just get a rock up there on the witness stand.

There are so many instances that I could list, but it's useless here with some of the comments I've seen. ;-)

The atheist Taliban always claims patriotism when attempting to destroy our foundations

You might care to notice that the Taliban were "true believers" of God.

Hey, if he is dead tomorrow, oh well. Serves him right.

Unlike true cultists like you,who are the only ones who deserve to live, right?

I know that is harsh, but if some person full of violence and rage strikes out at him, I won't be upset.

Some person such as yourself? Maybe they could torture him to death and then videotape it so you could enjoy watching the video?
