I didn't see the encounter, but if the transcript is as accurate in the opening post, the words in print justified Coulter more than Couric.

Her points appear to be right on, and was given enough time to express a particular thought. Just my opinion of course.

Man, you are off by 180 degrees. Pull your nose away from your computer screen long enough to read a paper or watch TV and you'll notice that Liberals are NEVER caricatured as Poliburo members or Stalinists (except on conservative websites) in the MAINSTREAM MEDIA, whilst conservatives are QUITE OFTEN called Ayatollah's, Nazi's, Klansmen, Homophobes, etc etc ad nauseum.

THAT is the difference. Lamestream - ie: Northeastern Liberal Establishment - media, have their hyperbole aimed IN ONLY ONE DIRECTION.

Ann Coulter: Not after September 11th. I did find it quite astonishing that after September 11th liberals seem to be in overdrive watching out for the statements of Christians. I mean what Jerry Falwell said there, whether you agree with it or not, is really fairly standard Jerry Falwell Christian doctrine. Yes, he's against abortion, he's against --

Ann Coulter: No what he said was that the almighty had stopped protecting America because America was no longer asking for God's help, this is straight Christian doctrine, and even if it had been some sort of peculiar sect of Christianity, as opposed to straight Christian doctrine, I think it's a little bit peculiar that everyone was jumping on the statement of a Christian minister after thousands of Americans were slaughtered by Islamic fundamentalists.

Hmmm, well, if we replace the word "liberal" with "conservative" and vice versa in that paragraph and then substitute the references to slavery with references to Stalinism, we arrive at a valid critique of just about every column Ann Coulter has ever written. Here's another:

The critical difference is when "Conservatives" are characterized, the accusations are unsubstantiated generalizations. "LibeRATS" are rarely slimed with the fact of their Stalinistic approach to public manipulation and wholesale false advertising of their true intent at the welfare state. Petty unsubstantiated name calling - i.e. "Bush is stupid" - has no equivalent by Republicans, even when the facts are on the Republicans side. When was the last time you heard a Republican call Clinton a rapist or a traitor???..

There is no equivalent to the liberal lies, slander, scare tactics and fear mongering, on the Republican side. NONE.

There's a celebrity boxing grude match I'd actually pay to see. Though I doubt it would go a full round before Ann put Catty down for the count. In fact, I'd be suprised if it lasted more than 10 seconds if Catty fights the way she argues.

I am truly thrilled at Ann's responses and focus. I wish I could hug her and tell her how much I wish her success with this newest book. I miss Barbara Olson and am so glad we have Ann and a few others in there telling it LIKE IT IS! God Bless and protect them!

I saw a brief replay of this on Fox Cable....I sat riveted! Couldn't believe my eyes. And I was so glad to see you posted a brief transcript! Ann was MORE prepared than Katie and represented conservative, especially Christain conservatives with great skill.

They froze a frame of Katie on the Fox broadcast and the meanness-almost evilness-that jumped out of her arrogant face was pretty horrifying.

Other than the make-up dept making Ann's entire face orange (they do stuff like that to many guests that are not liked by the staff, I guess), it was a spectacular interview. How I hope many watched it who would normally NEVER get a chance to hear Ann!

I disagree, Couric did not 'wipe the floor' with our beloved Ann (Pssst Ann: I am still waiting for your reply to my several marriage proposals!).

The person being 'interviewed' by the liberal media (i.e. Couric) is at the disadvantage because they come in not knowing what they are going to have to defend them selves against in such an ambush. AC did a great job of helping give a live demo of EXACTLY what her book was all about. If she had onle stated "this 'interview' is an example of my point" and then POUNCED she would have lefy Couric with her jaw on the ground.

Note to Ann: Next time PLAN on this happening and be prepared to pounce in the last minute of the segment- this is the ONLY 'known' you will have coming into the interview... that they are going to ambush you with misrepresentations..

Didn't ya just have to laugh when Katie, several times, quite defensively, piped up with ' since I am conducting this interview'.....

I mean.....hehe.....Katie was drowning and very very nonplussed that Ann was right there with the responses, the words, the facts, and worst of all, amazing directness. Poor katie....bet she had some really nasty words running thru her pea brain after that interview. And I don't think Ann will ever be invited back....< chuckle >.
