Silly boy! I don't have root access (this is reason #14 why I hate Linux). The sysadmin does. think I'm going to ask him to install the new version of realplayer so I can watch TV? Fat chance!

You can install it in your home directory, as far as I know. Just FYI. I don't want your sysadmin coming down on

BTW, that's not a good enough reason to hate Linux, since the same things can be prevented under Windows NT/2000/XP.

My wife uses NT at work, and they have it locked down in that way. She can't even change her desktop background color!
