Yeah, but isn't the common interpretation of the constitution since... well... God knows when, back in Jefferson's presidency... isn't the common interpretation that any law which endorses a religion necessarily excludes other religious traditions from that endorsement?

And which religion is being excluded in the phrase, "One Nation Under God"? Even atheists, whose god is the material world, shouldn't have a problem with it. There is always the Truth that there is a higher power, and that power is referred to as God. The word God is not peculiar to any specific religion, and does not discriminate.

Uh, atheists do not believe in any "gods". They do not consider the material world as a "god".
