If Rose Bird can be recalled, so can this turkey....

Rose Bird was a state judge. This is a federal court.

Who was it, that Fox interviewed and said they were praying for the safety of their family? Was it this guy, or the lawyer? I thought it was him...I have made a horrible mistake thinking it was him that said he was praying..obviously it wasn't. Sorry.

If I type what I want - I'd be booted...

so, instead, I'll say that you have a very limited view of the world and need to find a new rock. Like that CecilGhost loser - you're not worth the effort.

Do you mean by your post #60 that you believe that the reference to the Creator in the Declaration of Independence is a specific reference to the God of Abraham?

NO, actually, I knew that. Once again, thinking things to death here. We all know what the pledge means, what it stands for. This is directly out of the Communist Goals that were read into the Congressional record.

11:29 PDT (AP) -- The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals overturned a 1954 act of Congress inserting the phrase "under God" after the words "one nation" in the pledge. The court said the phrase violates the so-called Establishment Clause in the Constitution that requires a separation of church and state. "A profession that we are a nation `under God' is identical, for Establishment Clause purposes, to a profession that we are a nation `under Jesus,' a nation `under Vishnu,' a nation `under Zeus,' or a nation `under no god,' because none of these professions can be neutral with respect to religion," Judge Alfred T. Goodwin wrote for the three-judge panel.

What are these f'ing idiots going to do next - declare the Declaration of Independence "unconstitutional" because of some imagined seperation of Church and State that has been warped into complete eradication of all religion, morality, and f'ing common sense from anything "public"!!?

I do fully expect to see these headlines in the future if something isn't done about this:

9th Circuit Court: Declaration of Independence is Unconstitutional

Those fools should be tarred, feathered, and rode out of this nation on a freakin' rail.

I agree with that assessment 100%, especially on the "indivisible" and the fact it was written by a Socialist.
How ironic that a liberal activist judge is now trying to deep-six it.

There is a difference between a state the does not allow religion, and a state that does not entangle itself with religion.

You sadden me. The establishment clause guarantees the "free exercise of religion" in the public square. It does not protect you from hearing the word God.

Public schools are the essence of the public square. Nobody can be forced to recite the pledge and no leftist judges can deny young people and old from reciting "One Nation Under God" which will be posted on the bumper of my car as soon as I get home.

You don't have to mention a particular religion in order to endorse religion. What if I'm atheist or Buddist or Pagan and I don't believe in a Big G God? What if I raise my children that way--why is government contradicting the way I raise my child in terms of religious beliefs?

There was a big stink when the Court ruled that kids did not have to recite the pledge on religious grounds, and this just goes another step. If you don't like it, when you wake your kid up every morning, recite the pledge with him and include under God.

Meantime, school is neither the time nor the place to discuss religion in any broad sense, as this one.
