[history]
A smiling cartoon penis will star in a syphilis awareness campaign to be unveiled this week in San Francisco to stem sharp increases in the sexually transmitted disease among gay men.
But the "Healthy Penis 2002" campaign--and its motto, "Making every penis a healthy penis"--has been rejected in Los Angeles County because health officials say it is too racy, demeaning to the gay community and potentially offensive to others.

ACK!! Now you have to register with the LAT in order to read anything.
No way, Jose. Too bad, the article sounded like a hoot.

you can't stop the spread of ANYTHING by gay men simply because THEY won't stop. They have no self control, no self respect, no sense of decency. The only mantra they know is "must get laid". As long as they are being coddled and pampered by the left, they will continue this destructive path.

Obviously, they've never visited Big Dick's Halfway Inn in Halfway, MO.

Why are you limiting your remarks to "gay men"??? Sounds pretty universal to me.

Who cares about the gay community?! Anything remotely asked of them, that resembles responsibility, is treated as "demeaning" and "homophobic", so just let them self-destruct.

Coulda been a contender.

well I limited my remarks to gay men since the article was about gay men. How about this.. replace the words 'gay men'
with the word 'liberal'. Is that better?

Good grief - this isn't just demeaning to gay people, it's demeaning to everyone over the age of 7. The only thing about this that frightens me is that somewhere, somehow, somebody thought "Happy Penis 2002" was a great idea, it was probably more than one person, and they may not be taking their meds.
To: Billthedrill
Freudian slip, there, although I'm thinking "Happy Penis 2002" may be what they really had in mind...
To: boris
Another approach to an ad campaign comes to mind, but they'd get sued by the makers of "The Clapper".
