COURIC: I have to bring up a section of the book where you talk specifically about me. And this is not where you call me the "Eva Braun of liberalism," which I'll ask you about.

COULTER: The "affable" (Eva Braun of liberalism).

COURIC: Thanks, that makes me feel so much better.

COURIC: You used me as an example of liberal bias against Ronald Reagan and I'm just curious as to why you took it so out of context?

COULTER: Well, I don't think I did. You're taking it out of context.

COURIC: No.....

COULTER: What I said, was - which is true - that the "Today Show" opened, I believe that it was three days in a row, with the announcement, "Ronald Reagan was an airhead. That's the conclusion of this newbook by Edmund Morris." When Edmund Morris came on with you he described that as a grossly unfair characterization of his point.

Couric proceeded to read the direct quote from Morris' book, which Coulter then put in context, explaining that the observation was made after Morris' initial encounter with Reagan "and that the entire course of the rest of his book was contradicting that."

The exchange grew heated once again:

COULTER: So for the "Today Show" to be opening three days in a row (with) "Ronald Reagan was an airhead," I'm sorry, that's dishonest.

COURIC: And also, just for your information, it was just one day.

COULTER: No, you said it one day. Matt Lauer said it another day.

Yup, the Today show is just a pure as the wind driven snow.

Your way of "debating" a point with me is to sarcastically misrepresent what I have said. Your last post concludes "Yup, the Today show is just a pure as the wind driven snow." Let me make clear for you what apparently do not understand. I think the "Today Show" is a complete waste of time for a number of reasons, only one of which is the very liberal bias of the co-hosts, the writers, the staff and the management. Maybe that helps you.
However, in this particular thread, the discussion has been about how the interview of Coulter by Couric went today. In earlier threads, I pointed out that what I said a few days ago was correct, and that many here were incorrect, in making such stupid predictions that Coulter would bury Couric, would have her crying, cringing, apologizing, whatever, or that Couric would be afraid to show up today. Such nonsense came from people who are SO biased in their worldview, so hateful of anything and everything they disagree with, that they lose ALL objectivity. There is far too much of that in this forum. There are some very intelligent comments on these boards, but there are also blindly biased viewpoints by those who NEVER want to be objective.
Your intimation that I view the Today show favorably is your very defensive way of burying your head in the sand. Reasonable people understand the interview today did NOTHING to change minds among people who watch the Today show. Coulter bit her lip and played nice for a change. She was polite and diplomatic. Couric scored some points, Coulter scored some points. It's over. The Today Show will be back tomorrow with some kind of pointless stunt or interview with a movie star. Coulter will go back to the media stages she prefers, where she can go back to being witty but condescending.
