Maybe you didn't watch the interview. I did. Couric BEGAN by asking Coulter about the general theme in her book, and then followed up challenging Coulter on some specific points. How is that evidence of liberal bias? Obviously, she selected points from Coulter's book that she considered to be incorrect, such as Coulter's intimation that Couric had called Reagan an airhead. Couric denied it, and said the transcripts proved Coulter was wrong. Couric read portions of the transcript. On this point, 80 percent of the viewing public had to believe Coulter had slandered Couric.
What was your point?

My point was that Couric showed evidence of liberal bias IN HER INTERVIEW WITH MORRIS merely by focusing on Morris' calling Reagan an airhead. Furthermore, "Reagan is an airhead' was NOT one of the colcusions of his biography of Reagan. It was his first impresssion, stated early in the book, and the subsequent pages were spent showing that impression to be false. Have you read Ann's book? Does Ann specifically claim that Couric called Reagan an airhead, or does she say something different? Either way, Couric's interview with Morris reveals her liberal bias.

Couric's interview with Coulter was typical liberal fare - she attacked the messenger (you got fired) and lied (Ann didn't get fired - her column was dropped by one out of dozens of publications that purchase it in syndication).

Oh, and in the spirit of 'Katie was just asking the question of what an author said', remeber this Couric quote that she opened her Today show with?

"Good morning. Bubba was a rapist! . That's one of the conclusions of a new interview of Bill Clinton accuser Juanita Broadderick that's drawing a tremendous amount of interest and fire today, Monday, September the 27th, 1999."

No? Neither do I, because she never said it. Nor can I imagine her saying it, because her clouded liberal view would not let her and 99% of her liberal friends in the media---an actual standing charge of rape by a sitting president of the US.

The contrast of her attack on Reagan and coddling of Clinton is striking.

Katie Couric, Today show co-host

I'm sorry, but the transcripts prove that Couric DID bash Reagan with her opening quip on Morris' book. She LIED by saying that "Reagan was an airhead" was one of the conclusions of the author of that book, when it wasn't. The transcripts prove that Ann was right in pointing out that incident as an example of the TOADY show's liberal bias.
