The original Thin Red Line was made in 1964. I have not seen it, but have read that it was a pretty good film. Jack Warden plays the sergeant. Just for the record, the original was 99 minutes; the more recent stink bomb was 170 minutes. It is an excellent example of the lack of imagination and degradation of Hollywood.

Not only that- The Director wanted to make the film a full six hours= with three intermisions! Can you imagine! I saw that film and was bored to tears in 20 minutes with the constant self speeches in the mind.

The original Thin Red Line was made in 1964. I have not seen it, but have read that it was a pretty good film. WRONG! That one stunk too. However, the novel (James Jones) was probably the BEST war novel ever written. An INCREDIBLE piece of writing.
