Wouldn't it be interesting to listen to Richard Gere if the terrorists targeted say, Hollywood? But I am afraid that even if the terorists did hit places like Berkely and Massachusetts, the remaining liberals would find a way to blame it on us right-wingers. It would be "our" fault, somehow. We antagonized the terrorists somehow, or made them envious, put crosses on our churches, or some such nonsense. parsy.
I disagree. People do have a sense of self-preservation about them. It is okay to think, if one is a liberal, that one must address the concerns of terrorists in the abstract if terrorism is somthing that is happening "over there". But when it happens to a crowd at a Fourth of July picnic, or to a bus full of school kids in Peoria, or to a wedding party in Paramus, NJ, that's when the liberals run out of excuses.
Boy, to be a gun shop owner in this time!
And to think, the Toon almost ran gun shops out of business.
Be Seeing You,
Chris
Sure, they'd find a way to rationalize it to themselves. But they will be horrified to discover that nobody else will even give them a hearing. If they think they lost a ton of support post-9/11 (and they did), wait until something like this goes down. They'd start getting beaten up on street corners for even daring to make such an accusation.
Not that I condone physical violence against mere speech, but I do believe it would happen.
