Ironically, the editorial page of the today's Ithaca Journal has a piece on the need to spend more tax dollars on schools on the theory that "The vitality and health of the Ithaca community is dependent to a large extent on the credibility...of its public education system.

Yeah, nothing says "credible," like inviting a convicted murderer to speak to graduates.

These people are the ones who will want to lead lives of responsibility-free granola munching and birkie wearing dancing and camping until they decide it is time to "settle'. They will then see and become envious of the fruits of those who took responsibility for their own lives earlier on, and then lay claim to a "fair portion" of the others earnings. They will claim that those opposed to their pickpocketing are "mean"...

My friend, you have just described the vast majority of Ithacites and hit on the head exactly why "Ithaca is the City of Evil."

A few typical Ithacans:

These people are just insane and I am not surprised by this latest of insanity.

Oh, they're not insane, at least not in the barking mad sense. They may be delusional, but they're bound and determined to enforce their delusions on everyone else, as you can attest.

Hey, give yourself credit - think of your classmates who fell for that crap, and realize that you are probably a part of a tiny minority that has the fortitude to resist four years of indoctrination at one of the nation's finest re-education camps ;)

Fry Mumia!

Those cops in Philly sure did a good job of framing Mumia.

They got him to stand over the body of the cop with a smoking gun

"the credibility...of its public education system."

Well THAT has certainly been called into question. Makes me want to fork over more tax dollars for the "education" provided by Mumia. I mean who will be next?

"Where is the collaborative democratic community sharing the decision-making?" he asked to roars of laughter.

It must have been the delivery.

If we immersed Mumia Abu-Jamal in urine, would we call it art ?

He said the system is badly in need of alternatives.

Mumia is still breathing. He is badly in need of the alternative.

City of Evil, big time bump

Just when I think nothing can drive the point home better that Ithaca is the City of Evil, you get articles like this.

I'm left speechless----this is outrageous!!!

Today's Ithaca Journal appears to be chock full of stories detailing the radical left's complete control of the Ithaca School System.

In addition to the articles already cited on this thread, there is an article detailing the school's efforts to find an "affirmative action officer" to insure "equity in the district in terms of ethnicity, race, gender and sexual orientation."

That job is still open?

Even a free-riding race-baiting moocher can't be induced to move to the City of Evil!

Unfortunately, that will not happen. They overturned his death sentence in December and will now live out his days in prison.

Please let us know if the Ithaca School Board responds to your e-mails. I'd be interested to hear their take on it.

I thought of you while reading the newspaper this morning, and what came to mind was the line by Chief Brody in "Jaws," when he first saw the shark: "You're gonna need a bigger boat." In this case, it's "You're gonna need a bigger barf bag!"

FYI: The Wall St. Journal has picked up on this story:

We're against "zero tolerance," but this is ridiculous. In Ithaca, N.Y., the Alternative Community School had a murderer as a commencement speaker. The Monday graduation ceremony featured a "message"--on tape, we presume--from Mumia Abu-Jamal, who murdered Philadelphia policeman Daniel Faulkner in 1981.

The article also had a link to the Alternative Community School's website, which those with strong stomachs can access by clicking here.

Ithaca is the City of Evil.
