The following email is being circulated to our members by various disgruntled former FReepers:
Subject: The Future of Our Free Republic Dear Fellow Free Republic Member,
Many of us at Free Republic are distressed by the extraordinary level of censorship that has been so obviously going on. It is very obvious that individual posts, entire threads, and the entire work of members who have been highly regarded are disappearing into a Memory Hole.
Scores of us have organized an e-mail network that is independent of the communication controls presently, and sadly, being used at our Free Republic. We have carefully documented the unmistakeable evidence that most of the posts, threads, and posters that are vaporized completely are overwhelmingly targeted for their political stance on the Right. These are not Leftwingers. These are not even Middle-of-the-Roaders. These are not disruptors. These are not foul-mouthed delinquents. These are fellow patriots on the Right who disagree with the controllers of FR on specific issues that are now hotly debated by the Right. We have documented that FR will parade before you, as if to hide all of the great posters whose work has been destroyed, a straw-man delinquent that has been banned. This is deceptive.
Treating these fellow patriots on the Right so shabbily is not right. As shabbily as those banned into the Memory Hole are being treated, the most shabbily treated of all are all of the good folks on Free Republic themselves. We came here for honest debate. Free Republic advertised itself as a Forum for honest debate. Without that honest debate...everything at Free Republic becomes shabby.
We can do much better. As a measure of how intense the simmering feelings have gotten among members on this unjustifiable use of deleting, censoring, and banning please link to the following thread. You will notice that one simple and sincere plea from one of our finest members has spontaneously touched off a prairie fire of approximately 500 posts in a mere 18 hours. If it isn't Memory Holed this thread may shoot into the thousands.
If you would like to receive anonymous updates of information concerning the hundreds of Freepers who have networked via e-mail to restore the wonderful honest debate to Free Republic, just drop an e-mail of just one or two words if you like for extreme brevity to:
StopCensoringUs@hotmail.com
And, here's that link back to the snowballing thread at FR:

Thank you so much for giving your thought to this vital matter for our Internet home.
Sincerely, StopCensoringUs@hotmail.com

The failures who couldn't create their own successful websites if their lives depended on it are telling Jim Robinson how to run his creation again.
Now that's hubris.

"More dissembling."
If that's your best shot, I can why you like censorship. Don't bother with anymore two word rebuttals.

We do not owe any political party a damned thing. Serious parties (George F. Will said this once) try to shape as well as seduce the nation. If anything, all things considered, it is the Republican Party who owes us a full and proper account as to why they talk the talk but do not walk the walk; You are right -- we do not owe any political party a damned thing. That is not why I stay in it. However it is serious people -- not parties -- who try to shape as well as seduce a nation -- it's not the other way around as George Will states. The majority of the Constitution loving people are in the Republican party. Therefore, there is no reason to leave it. The best you can achieve is concentrating the same mass of Constitution lovers elsewhere and that ain't going to happen anytime soon. Meanwhile what you get is dilution. The best course is to change the remaining people in the Republican party and then the remaing people in the electorate.
If you can't win a Republican primary with ideas and principles derived from the Constitution, then you will never be able to win a general election based on these same principles.

That there is censorship at all should embarrass youYou question sensorship on private property -- it is you who should be embarrassed.

It is funny. If people feel as if they have been treated unfairly, there are countless other ways they can form posting forums like FR so they can be heard.

Unfortunately most of those who need to listen to it don't have the guts or personal integrity to pay attention to what was said.

Your comment goes down a completely un-associated path.
My statement addresses ONLY one specific statement JR made.
It has absolutely nothing to do with any of the specific reasons he gives for banning or censoring posts.

Lets see how long this post stays, then we will all know
whos is right or wrong about postings here at freerepublic.
This post has had its thread removed twice, do any fellow freepers see a problem with this Posting?????

FBI Raids Hillary's Warehouse in Whitewater Deja Vu
Ten years ago, L. Jean Lewis, an investigator with the government's Resolution Trust Corporation, was able to piece together a complicated Arkansas bank fraud conspiracy from a treasure trove documents she unearthed in an out-of-the-way Kansas City warehouse.
The result was the Whitewater scandal, which, after six years worth of twists and turns, ended in the first impeachment of an elected president in U.S. history.
New York Sen. Hillary Clinton surely hopes that history isn't repeating itself with the raid conducted by the FBI last month on another warehouse; this one chock full of documents from her 2000 Senatorial campaign.
"The documents were seized in a May 30 raid of a California storage facility containing documents of Peter Paul, the entrepreneur who funded Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign with over $2 million dollars in direct, in-kind contributions which were never reported by Hillary Clinton or her Senate campaign, as required by law," revealed the public interest law firm Judicial Watch in a press release late last week.
The raid is important for two reasons. First, it may yield yet another treasure trove of evidence against the Clintons.
But the second reason may be even more significant. The Justice Department's continuing investigative interest in the Clintons comes despite news last week that the U.S. Attorney for New York's Southern District, James Comey, decided to shut down a key part of the Pardongate probe.
Peter Paul and his Judicial Watch lawyers have been trying to persuade the Justice Department for the better part of two years to take his allegations seriously. But instead they seemed more intent on prosecuting him for stock fraud. That is, until now.
Judicial Watch Chairman Larry Klayman suggested the raid may represent something of a turnabout in thinking among Attorney General John Ashcroft and his colleagues.
"Mr. Paul could have turned the documents about the Clintons over to the FBI months ago under a cooperation agreement," Klayman noted. "Instead, he waits in a Brazilian dungeon for the Ashcroft Justice Department to get serious about this corruption case. So it is a welcome sign that the Justice Department is turning up the heat on this new crime scandal concerning the Clintons."
The FBI raid may also be a sign that the reported no prosecution deal for the Clintons, demanded by Democrat leaders as the price for President Bush getting some of his legislative agenda implemented, is beginning to unravel - since Democrats seem to have kept little if any of their part of the bargain. (See: Bush Insider Claims Clinton Deal Torpedoed Pardongate)
"The search warrant authorizing the FBI raid of the storage facility specifically references the Clintons and the New York Senate campaign," says Judicial Watch.
"The search warrant authorizes the seizure of: Records relating to New York Senate 2000, the Hollywood Gala Salute to President William Jefferson Clinton, the Federal Election Commission, David Rosen and Aaron Tonken... (David Rosen was the Director of Finance for Hillary Clinton's Senate campaign, and Aaron Tonken is a Democrat fundraiser who raised money for the Clintons. Both men have knowledge of Mr. Paul's contributions.)"
Meanwhile, Peter Paul awaits a Justice Department offer of legal leniency in exchange for his further cooperation in the Clinton case.
If he returns to the U.S. anytime soon, it could be a sign that for Hillary Clinton, it's deja vu all over again.
