It is, isn't it? There's no shadow :)).
I would give the Democrat congresses under LBJ credit for being the most destructive, followed by FDR, Clinton and Carter. The make up of congress from 1798 until 2000 is HERE. Considering the majorities Democrats have had in the last 70 years it is amazing we are typing on FR and not laboring in a gulag.
I think it is just the moderators now.
Gone now.
Mostly his own doing. He's a whiner and malcontent who should have learned a huge lesson with his own web site fiasco. He needs to belong to some/any Internet group, much like most of the complainers at LF and Con AF. They don't have lives so they take out their self-created frustrations out on some guy who wrote software for Internet site - a site based on his own beliefs (however fluid they may be).
To paraphrase an earlier poster, they seem to think someone owes them a web site of their liking. What a bunch of crybabies.
The war we are embroiled in isn't for land or gold or anything tangible. It is a war of ideas... Islam against Judaism and Christianity. Whether the moderators like it or not - whether it's politically correct or not, the only way to kill an idea is to kill the mind that holds it... every mind that holds it! If that's genocide, so be it. That's what they have planned for us.
But never fear,it won't happen. There are too many apologists for those poor, unenlightened Muslim terrorists.
As adults, we know that in a civil society, when we break the rules, we are supposed to get punished (Slick and The Gang excepted).
Notice to the "You are not Welcome Here Misfit Crowd:" FRee Republic is a civil society. When you break the FRee Republic rules (that is to say, JimRob's rules), you are gonna get punished.
What is the problem?
Oh -- I get it! Juveniles masquerading as adults!
DUH! Take your juvenile "IMAVICTIM" claptrap elsewhere! Your presence is on this forum is not desired.
I have to say that running a site with so many members has got to be one big enterprise. I moderate a cheesy little Politics & Current Events forum and Man Oh Man....people try everything in the book to undermine the entire site when you ban them.
Good Job JimRob...my hat is off to you.
BTW: I myself received a Three Day Ban once for jumping on someone. Heck....any male FReeper worth his spit should at least get a warning or something over time.
Not a bad experience.
And I love your description of them as little mice with morsel of FREEPerdom they chat excitedly about! :-D!

Wow, I'm so lucky. I was only ONE other person today, for about ten minutes before the site went down--txrangerette!
It never even occurred to me that I could have checked her freepmail; I was too busy posting "WTF is going on with the screen names, I'm hellinahandcart I tell ya!", and then the whole thing went blooey...just to put your mind at ease, txrangerette...
But now I'm seriously wondering who got to be ME this morning. I hope it was someone who likes me, isn't too nosy, and doesn't talk!
There were and still are many who are against him. Probably the strongest voice...or at least the one that sticks out in everybody's mind or nearly everybody, was Jim Robinson. He utterly detested him, and had no difficulty in expounding all the reasons why.
I remember sitting in stunned silence when someone told me Jim had endorsed GW! I went to the thread and had to ask him myself because this was not the Jim Rob I remembered from all those nights/early mornings/days on Fire Talk actually talking and listening to voices!
The Jim I 'see' today is not the person I knew in my earlier days here at FR, nor from Fire Talk...it is as though someone else has taken on his moniker...*sigh*
With over 70,000 different screen names, how do you determine who is a poster that has been banned?
