And if a positive ID is made -- based on tag # and description of car -- breaking or putting a hole in the red lense of the vehicle's rear lights could make all the difference in the world (especially at night) to those on the lookout for or following/pursuing the vehicle. The fugitive probably wouldn't notice but anyone who sees such a vehicle may take notice that they otherwise would not......

Not to mention that a damaged rear light may well result in a traffic stop by police in any event...
