Are you kidding? Have you been reading the posts that you purport to respond to? I just said -- George Bush is the FIRST Republican president to endorse a Palestinian state. That means that Ronald Reagan did NOT endorse a Palestinian state. That seems like a big difference. Why do you insist on denying this?

The point is this:

His position is in line with Israel's, so I do not see a problem with him vis-a-vis support for Israel.

Furthermore, he's laid down some VERY strict conditions thatmust be met before a Palestinian state is supported by the United States. I do not see how this is letting Israel down in this case. Fears of a sell-out are overblown at this time.
