We're dealing with powerful forces. Bush is more open about it than Clinton, but anyway you look at it the medicine strong enough to keep the world safe for freedom loving people is also strong enough to enslave us all. We really do depend on honest, competent leaders with a true understanding of what's essential.

We have gone past the point, as a country, where we can ensure our collective freedom by keeping the federal government too weak to put it at risk.

And the world is going past the point that it can ensure its collective freedom by remaining isolationist.

We must elect good leaders; we must understand ourselves what is important so that we will know good leaders when we see them; we must teach our children thus; and we must not fail.

I could easily have written every sentence you wrote. Concur. Even the salute.

There's just the underlying drumbeat, undercurrent of the demonic other thing building in the tyrannical globalism. And I don't always expect it when some thread of that seems to appear or be felt.
