Wednesday was a very unusual news day in Washington. There was the second tragic "homicide bombing" in 36 hours in Jerusalem, which caused President Bush to postpone his Middle East message one-hour after the “homicide bombing, the second postponement in two days;” and there were three other events shortly thereafter.

The 7:10 p.m [Israel] attack came just one day after another suicide bomber blew himself up on a packed commuter bus in southern Jerusalem, killing 19 people and wounding 70 others, and just hours after Israel angrily announced it will begin reoccupying Palestinian areas until terrorism stops. Less than an hour after yesterday's attack, George W. Bush postponed indefinitely a widely anticipated policy address in which he was expected to launch a new Middle East peace initiative.

D.C. firefighters were forced to use cellular telephones to handle emergencies, including the evacuation of the Federal Reserve, for more than 10 hours Wednesday after lightning knocked out their radio system. A lightning strike at the public-safety communications center on McMillan Drive NW knocked out two of the four antennas that relay messages over the Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department's 800-megahertz digital-radio system, said D.C. Chief Technology Officer Suzanne Peck.

The $5.3 million Motorola system, which has been criticized by firefighters for failing in emergencies since it was brought on line in January 2001, went down about 3 p.m. Wednesday and returned to service at about 1:30 a.m. yesterday.

Package scare at Fed a false alarm About 1,300 workers evacuated after ‘suspicious items’ found

WASHINGTON, June 19 — Federal Reserve Board employees were evacuated from the central bank’s buildings Wednesday after a suspicious package was discovered in an outside garbage bin. No explosives were found and employees were let back into the building by evening, law-enforcement officials said. THE ITEMS, WHICH weren’t identified, were found during a routine patrol around 3:30 p.m. ET, the Federal Reserve said.

D.C. police spokesman Sgt. Joe Gentile said three packages near the Fed to which bomb-sniffing dogs had reacted positively proved “nonexplosive” after further investigation. Gentile said fertilizer had been applied recently on grass near the Fed, a factor that can affect how the dogs react.

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- The Secret Service briefly evacuated the White House on Wednesday evening after being informed there was a single-engine Cessna in restricted airspace above Washington, officials said. President Bush and the first lady were in the residence at the time. About 15 minutes after the evacuation, an "all clear" was issued, allowing authorized personnel back in. Early indications were that it was an accidental violation of the restricted airspace, but the pilot was being questioned about what transpired.

Government officials said two F-16s were scrambled out of Andrews Air Force Base in Maryland about 8:30 p.m. EDT when the plane entered the restricted airspace, about four miles northeast of the White House.

Ha-ha-ha. That's not me laughing, that's Heaven laughing, for as the Yiddish expression goes (after translation, that is), Man plans and G-d laughs. In fact, someone wrote me and told me that George Bush would have attacked Afghanistan earlier had weather conditions not delayed him until the 22nd day of Tishrei. I can't confirm that fact yet, but it doesn't matter anyhow. The fact is that after weeks of preparation and deliberation, George Bush Jr. finally let loose on Sunday, October 7th. However, according to the Jewish calendar in Israel, it was already (just barely) Monday, 22 of Tishrei - Hoshana Rabbah - the one day of the year that G-d judges the gentile nations as well as the Jewish people.

One person tried to convince me the other day that the Teimani pronunciation of the word "Gog," is to say the "g" (gimmel in Hebrew), the same way we do when we say "George." Then, something happened to the "r" (raish in Hebrew) sound along the way, though I can't remember what. But, when he was finished, we had "Gog m'Gog" (George Bush Jr., son of George Bush Sr.).

It was a nice try, but for all we know, it is true. After all, it is unusual that the son should be president two terms later, just when another conflict in the Middle-East and Asia has quickly duplicated his own father's dilemma. And, it is even more unusual that the son should have the same name as the father, "George."

How we take subtle historical coincidences for granted, and brush them off easily only because they are not blatant enough four our liking. It's like taking an exam in school, and then getting up and going over to the examiner to complain, "Hey! I don't like this question. It doesn't indicate enough what the answer is!"

You have to appreciate that point, because it could have happened during Clinton's era, but didn't, as if it was waiting for George Bush Jr. to get into the White House, something he did only after great controversy. We forgot about that one already, didn't we? From a Torah point of view, such "suspense" is always a sign that Heaven is directly involved in the event in question, and that we, the Jewish people, are being given a chance to wake up and do teshuvah. The results, we are being told, are being made dependent upon our choice...

Wow, you just jogged my memory. A couple of months ago, I was reading on the net, about the Bush Estate in Kennebunkport. It said that the only time the home had suffered storm damage, was during the 'perfect storm'. I didn't realize that it was during the Madrid peace abomination.

Widespread Extensive Damage

A state by state damage summary reveals the widespread and extensive damage caused by the storm and accompanying seas. Beach erosion and coastal flooding was severe and widespread, even causing damage to lighthouses. Hundreds of homes and businesses were either knocked from their foundations or simply disappeared. Sea walls, boardwalks, bulkheads, and piers were reduced to rubble over a wide area. Numerous small boats were sunk at their berths and thousands of lobster traps were destroyed. Flooding was extensive invading homes and closing roads and airports. Former President Bush's home in Kennebunkport, ME suffered damage as windows were blown out, water flooded the building, and some structural damage also occurred. Even inland areas suffered major damage.

1. October 30, 1991: The Perfect Storm—As President George H. W. Bush is opening the Madrid (Spain) Conference to consider “land for peace” in Israel’s Middle East role, the “perfect storm” develops in the North Atlantic, creating the largest waves ever recorded in that region. The storm travels 1000 miles from “east to west” instead of the normal “west to east” pattern and crashes into the New England Coast. Thirty-five foot waves crash into the Kennebunkport home of President Bush.
2. August 23, 1992: Hurricane Andrew—When the Madrid Conference moves to Washington DC and the peace talks resume, Hurricane Andrew, the worst natural disaster ever to hit America, comes ashore and produces an estimated $30 billion in damage and leaving 180,000 homeless in Florida.
3. January 16, 1994: Northridge Earthquake—President Bill Clinton meets with Syria's President Hafez el-Assad in Geneva. They talk about a peace agreement with Israel that includes giving up the Golan Heights. Within 24 hours, a powerful 6.9 earthquake rocks Southern California, This quake, centered in Northridge, becomes the second most destructive natural disaster to hit the United States, behind Hurricane Andrew,
4. January 20, 1998: Lewinsky Scandal. Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu meets with President Clinton at the White House and is coldly received. Clinton and Secretary of State Madeleine Albright refuse to have lunch with him. Late that evening, the Monica Lewinsky scandal breaks into the mass media and begins to occupy a major portion of Clinton's time.
5. September 28, 1998: Hurricane George—As Secretary of State Albright works on the final details of an agreement in which Israel would give up 13 percent of Yesha (Judah and Samaria), Hurricane George slams into the United States Gulf Coast with 110 mph winds and gusts up to 175 mph. The hurricane hits the coast and stalled. On September 28, Clinton meets with Yasser Arafat and Netanyahu at the White House to finalize this land deal. Later, Arafat addresses the United Nations about declaring an independent Palestinian state by May 1999, as Hurricane George pounds the Gulf Coast, causing $1 billion in damage. At the exact time that Arafat departs the country, the storm begins to dissipate.
6. October 15-22, 1998: Texas Flooded—On October 15, 1998, Arafat and Netanyahu meet at the Wye River Plantation in Maryland. The talks are scheduled to last five days with the focus on Israel giving up 13 percent of Yesha. The talks are extended and conclude on October 23. On October 17, awesome rains and tornadoes hit southern Texas. The San Antonio area is deluged with rain. The rain and flooding in Texas continue until October 22 and then subside. The floods ravage 25 percent of Texas and leave over one billion dollars in damage. On October 21, Clinton declares this section of Texas a major disaster area.
7. November 30, 1998: Market Capitalization Evaporates—Arafat comes to Washington again to meet with President Clinton to raise money for a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital. A total of 42 other nations were represented in Washington. All the nations agreed to give Arafat $3 billion in aid. Clinton promised $400 million, and the European nations $1.7 billion. On the same day, the Dow Jones average drops 216 points, and on December 1, the European Market had its third worst day in history. Hundreds of billions of market capitalization were wiped out in the U.S. and Europe.
8. May 3, 1999: The Powerful Super Tornado—On the day that Yasser Arafat is scheduled to declare a Palestinian state with Jerusalem as the capital, the most powerful tornado storm system ever to hit the United States sweeps across Oklahoma and Kansas. The winds are clocked at 316 mph the fastest wind speed ever recorded. The declaration is postponed to December 1999 at the request of President Clinton, whose letter to Arafat encourages him in his "aspirations for his own land." He also writes that the Palestinians have a right to "determine their own future on their own land" and that they deserve to "live free, today, tomorrow and forever."

Week of October 11, 1999: Hurricane, Earthquake and Dow Collapse—As Jewish settlers in 15 West Bank (Israel) settlements are evicted from the covenant land in Israel, the Dow-Jones financial averages lose 5.7 percent in the worst week since October 1989. On October 15 the Dow lost 266 points, and Hurricane Irene slams into North Carolina. On the next morning, October 16, a magnitude 7.1 earthquake rocks the southwest in the fifth most powerful earthquake in 20th Century. The earthquake was centered in the California desert and did little damage but was felt in three states.
10. September 11, 2001: Largest Terrorism Event in History—The World Trade Center and Pentagon terror attacks produced the most expensive insurance event in U.S. history ($30 to $50 billion estimate). At the same time the Bush administration, in cooperation with the Saudis, was completing the most comprehensive plan and message ever to be offered on Israel’s covenant land by an American President, and to be presented by Secretary of State Powell to the United Nations General Assembly. Saudi Arabia’s Prince Bandar bin Sultan stated he went from being "the happiest man in the world" on Monday night, September 10, to experiencing the worst crisis of his career on September 11. Dreams of a new Middle East peace initiative evaporated. The realization that most of the hijackers were Saudis "fell on me ... like the whole house collapsed over my head," Bandar said later. He couldn't imagine a way to "do more damage or worse damage to Islam or to Saudi Arabia."
