I watched Oroville Dam being built. It definitely has an enormous earthen core. If the terrorists could knock that out, they would have my grudging respect. That would be the equivalent of moving a mountain.

There are ways to take out dams with relatively small amounts of explosives. These terrorists are no dummies. Many have engineering degrees. Remember, Osama himself is a civil engineer. It pays to be vigilent and not underestimate the enemy

I watched it being built as well. I remember a statistic
like it took "40 train car loads, every 20 minutes, 24 hours a day, for 4 years" of fill dirt. Yes, that's quite a mountain of a dam.
