I like Tom Tomorrow sometimes. But this one is a perfect example of a seeming leftie knowing that the current conflict doesn't fit their prejudices. Instead of evolving, they omit and declare "Censorship!" at any challenge of ritualistic cant. Surprising here, because I read where he said he didn't feel censored, despite the BBC's prompting to say so in the British Left's parallel project to make it seem that American's un-leftie views were somehow coerced, rather than content driven. They hate it when the facts don't jibe with their worldview, and worldview they think is their "turf."

"Completely disinterested in the roots and/or geopolitical context of the current conflict."

He should visit FR more. This is the problem of the left. They are silent because understanding the "context" is not important to them if it doesn't further the anti-American narrative. I read some recent Chumpsky pieces of text. He's losing it - talking about Turkey and Kurds - messaging to lefties to hold on to a country that we can say is "bad" and our enemy (rarely includes Arabs - can hurt those mass "buys" of his books.)

Someone said it's unpatriotic to oppose Corporate tax cuts? Don't know but his comment about ANWR shows that he is disinterested in the geopolitical context of the current crisis. He doesn't seem to buy the Leftie/Saudi Palestinianization plan, though.

Blissfully untroubled?

Well, I've considered them. One or two trouble me.

And he throws in religion? He should try explaining some of the "context" he thinks we are disinterested in. He should read up on some Rushdie
