I don't think Joe's post was about criticizing Jim.

I think it was more about defining conservatism.

Is a person who:

  1. Thinks that government is too big
  2. Thinks taxes are too high
  3. Thinks that judges should not legislate from the bench
  4. Thinks that abortion is wrong
  5. Thinks that individuals have a constitutional right to keep and bear arms
  6. Thinks that the free market is generally the best solution to economic concerns
  7. Thinks that the liberal mindset ensnares the poor in a self-perpetuating state of poverty
  8. Thinks that communism and anarchism are two of the biggest threats to people
  9. That local communities and states should have the right to self governance

Is such a person a conservative? Even if said person doesn't consider immigration a concern?

Or is that person not conservative?
