Waitaminute. You say the terrorists were here illegally and this is a fault of our national immigration policy. You say that there are laws on the books and they were being broken. So, are you going to propose even more laws? More laws do not neccesarily prevent crime. More federal power and/or federal programs will not solve our problems. Gun control laws do not keep guns out of the hands of criminals and immigration laws will not stop terrorists. Red herring.

NO JIM, enforce the laws that we already have! They were illegal under current laws!

AND I am not saying that enforcement would have stopped 9/11 but it may have been a warning sign that someone might have noticed! (did I say that?)

I don't think we need any more laws.

I do think that we ought to enforce the laws we have. That is not currently happening, at least within any reasonable meaning of the word "enforce."

The head of the INS, Ziglar, said that he would not round up and deport illegal aliens. Stop a minute and reflect on how bizarre that is, given his oath of office.

I'm sure there are some people who want more laws, national I.D.s, etc. I don't, and I'd guess that most people don't.

We just want the laws on the books enforced. Is that too much to ask?
