President Bush and First Lady Laura hosted the first ever Presidential Fitness Challenge today in Washington. The President and White House staff participated in a three-mile run, while Laura joined the mile walk. Bush finished 26th with a personal best time of 20:29. After finishing the race, the President said he 'felt great.' Tomorrow, the Presidential fitness weekend will continue with another game of tee ball at the White House. Enjoy your daily dose of Dubya!

I suggest you write to the White House and tell them about your friend and that you would like an autographed photo of the president as a gift in honor of her newly gained citizenship.

Active but not very active--I work full time. I wish I had more time. The problem with the governor race is that Mr. Sanchez has lots of millions to spend and he is doing it. Many ads, signs, radio spots. Perry is not as wealthy . I am worried about him b/c he got the doctors all bent out of shape b/c of his veto of the HMO fast payment bill.
Quite frankly I don't quite undserstand why he vetoed it but today I went to a conference and one of the docs in his speech said when talking about HMO that he would not even mention what Perry did to the docs. The TMA has put their support to Perry.
My aunt says she will vote for Mr. Sanchez (democrat) only b/c he pays her a lot of money to do his genealogy. I can't figure her out--she is an out and out republican but b/c of a business deal she feels she needs to vote for him. I am still working on her.

Have you seen the Swarovski flag pins. There are two, one is around $35 in the shape of a heart, and the flag one is $95. Great for dressing up an outfit, or using to pin a scarf. They are made of Swarovski crystals and you can get them at better jewelry stores.

Keep working on her. Tell her that if the democrats win the race, her taxes WILL GO UP. Tell her that Clinton was barely in the White House before he raised the taxes more than any preceding president.

I love and totally agree with your post #47. I am an enthusiastic Bush supporter and will do whatever I can to see that the Republicans regain control of the Senate as well as keeping control of the House. I will do whatever I can to see that Bush is reelected in 2004. I think he is just the right man in the right place at the right time. On top of all of that, his chief advisor is the person he prays to daily for advise and strength to do what's right for our great country.

Ahhh, I love that picture where he wipes the perspiration off his forehead with his sleeve - what a real man - sigh!

My local paper hasn't been especially informative about the Governor's race, but I was under the impression Perry is still far, far ahead of Sanchez in the polls. Has that changed? Naturally, I want Texas to re-elect Perry, but am far more concerned about the Senate race. We can't afford to give the Dems Gramm's seat.

Yeah, me too.
I haven't personally seen any Kirk bumper stickers, but I know he is very charismatic and managed to get elected to Mayor of Dallas.
I live in a suburb, but it is my impression that he wasn't a very good mayor and not really popular in his actions with either Blacks or whites.
I believe the new mayor got elected because she opposed him vigorously on some issues.
However, Cornyn is not exactly George Bush. (well, who is!!) But he's kind of a low-key guy who doesn't exactly get you excited.
Well, I'm hoping the Mexican vote will go against Kirk. Bush has been very popular with the Mexicans in Texas and it may ... MAY ... carry over. We NEED THAT SEAT in the senate big time.

Well, she doesn't have to tell him how she voted.
I know it is awkward with someone you work for, but you can just say something generic like, "Of course, I voted for the best man."

I'm ready!! I've mobilized my very large, very enthusiastic, very influential family. I'm an active member of the national, state and local Republican Party -- and trying to get more active (as my crazy schedule permits). If there is anything else I (or my family) can do, just let me know!!

I agree with your assessment of Cornyn. He isn't dripping with charisma, and unfortunately too many people base their vote on the more flashy, attractive candidate. Also, didn't he attend some sort of Muslim rally in Texas Stadium recently? Not sure that was such a smooth move given the current political climate. Hopefully W's efforts on his behalf will rub off. I read several weeks ago that Karen Hughes will be staying on top of this campaign when she returns to Austin. Maybe that will help (praying, praying).

Not all of the doctors were upset with Gov. Perry. There have been quite a few letters in the Express News from Doctors who support him. I got the impression that the ones who are angry with him are the admin types, not the practicing doctors. And you are right, we have to do all we can to get him re-elected and get John Cornyn into Phil Gramm's seat.
