Governor Bush's office has asked that I respond to your recent e-mail on this subject. I am the Executive Director of the Florida State Board of Administration, the agency charged with investing the assets of the pension fund. It is certainly tragic that these losses have occurred, but I assure you that the pension fund remains strong with a significant surplus and dramatic contribution rate reductions over the last four years. Governor Bush and the other Trustees have been very dedicated and responsible fiduciaries for the pension fund, and I am confident that they will continue that same prudent attitude into the future.

That was pretty nice of Gov Bush to have someone reply to such an email! I guess Bob Kunst is someone the Dem Party shouldn't make stand out in parking lots!

One of the things that really gets to the Dems, IMHO, is that the Bush's are such pleasant, decent people. It really makes their frothing at the mouth hatred look as mean spirited as it is.

About the Kirk button, which of course was from when he was a favorite son Presidential candidate, I still remember Claude Kirk. It is not a pleasant memory for Florida Republicans. He was another in the strange zoo of Florida political types. My biggest concern about Jeb is that he is too normal for Florida. Reno and Kunst are right at home with the Florida political wildlife.
