Fraternal Order of Police Endorse Governor Bush
MIAMI BEACH - The Bush-Brogan 2002 campaign is pleased to announce the endorsement of the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP). The announcement was made today during the FOP's 53rd Annual Meeting in Miami Beach. The FOP represents more than 22,000 law enforcement officers throughout the state of Florida.
"Public safety has been and continues to be a top priority for the
Bush-Brogan Administration," Bush said. "I am both humbled
and grateful to have the endorsement of the FOP."
"During his first term, Governor Bush has shown an unwavering commitment to the men and women in uniform," FOP President Philip Cameron said. "Governor Bush has shown that he is tough on crime by implementing laws like 10-20-Life, making Florida a safer place, and serving as an advocate for Florida's public safety workers."
The Bush-Brogan Administration is strongly committed to Florida's law enforcement officers:
· Fulfilling a 1998 campaign promise, Governor Bush signed the Police and Firefighter Pension Act (House Bill 261) into law in 1999, improving retirement benefits for Florida's public safety officers. This was his first bill to sign into law as Governor.
· In 2000, Governor Bush signed into law Senate Bill 94, which increased disability payments for special-risk officers by 23 percent.
· This year, Governor Bush has signed several bills into law to aid Florida's law enforcement officers including Senate Bill 108 which provides workers' compensation benefits for law enforcement officers for injuries sustained while performing their job responsibilities while off-duty or outside their regular jurisdiction. Senate Bill 176 and House Bill 1357 increase educational and death benefits for children and families of law enforcement officers who are killed in the line of duty.
The Fraternal Order of Police was the latest public safety organization to endorse Governor Bush's candidacy, and is the second in a series of endorsement announcements to be made by the campaign. On June 3rd, Bush received the endorsement of 16,500-person strong Florida Professional Firefighters.

'Fraternal Order of Police Endorse Governor Bush'
I am astonished! The police aren't supporting that great crimefighter and woman of integrity Ms. Janet Reno?? How could they be so misguided?
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
True, they would never support Reno. But, there are other candidates in this race....

They might have gone for this guy:
Ray "Buttercup" Rollingson,
FL Gov Candidate 2002

I'm thinking of supporting Ray "Buttercup" Rollinson. Anybody with a name like 'Buttercup' who runs for Governor must have a lot going for him!
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
Then again, there's Bob Kunst, a Dem the other Dem candidates refuse to acknowledge at official party gatherings:
Dem FL gov candidate Bob Kunst - Dems leaders made him
stay in the parking lot during a state party fund raiser. [FL Dem Party: Ever hear of Freedom of Speech???]

I must say, I gave it some thought as well. A guy who would have "Buttercup" as his nickname must be a sweetheart. On the other hand, JEB sounds very efficient and capable. "Buttercup" might make a better name for a pet puppy or something.

That is an interesting statue he is holding, considering he is a 'gay-rights' supporter. I do not think I want to know what it is for.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
I think he's at the Oscars. Hey, didn't they have some of their statues stolen last year??? Unless Bob Kunst is making movies too, I don't know what he's doing with a statue.... hmmm...

And, one could consider Nacy Grant, another candidate for FL gov, from the Christian Party:
FL scenery, and Nancy Grant
BTW, is she related to Amy Grant? Also, to tell you the truth, I didn't even know FL had a Christian Party!

This is obviously good news, but hardly surprising.
Even though his likely opponent is a former U.S. Attorney General, Ms. Reno was not really very influential in promoting the interests of law enforcement officers, but she was very good at obstructing justice on behalf of the top law enforcement official in the nation, the president. Somehow, I don't think that went over very well with the rank and file.
Jeb really deserves all the credit, though for the legislation he has signed that benefits police and firefighters. The voters should pay attention to these two important endorsements.

That is truly my point here, as I think the public will pay close attention to these two endorsements.
Voters may not pay much attention to other endorsements, but they will note these two. Thanks, TA.

Just exactly how much of a loser do you have to be that even the 'rats won't let you in?

No idea, but that outfit makes it look like she is running someplace considerably west of Florida.
To: Lucius Cornelius Sulla
LOL....I don't know about that. I once stopped by this terrific western boot shop in Arcadia, FL. Let me tell you, she would fit right in that town!

Well, that's one way to look at it. On the flip side, after that incident happened, he got a whole of new support from some posters at a Dem site, as those posters dislike all the Dem candidate for FL gov! LOL!
