I've already told you. I believe that liberalism is killing our country. I believe that liberalism is rooted in the Democrat Party. I believe that the Republicans are going along with it because they cannot get elected otherwise, due to the liberals having already indoctrinated three or more generations of our citizens with their socialist dogma via public schools and control of the media. I believe that the only way to reverse this is to vote out as many Democrats as possible and then start working on voting out as many liberal Republicans as possible as long as we maintain control of the Whitehouse and the Congress. Until someone can convince me that there's a better way, that's what I'm going with.

Well, the RNC at least thinks they can't get elected otherwise.

One test will be in November: if Simon wins, that could go a long way in reminding the RNC that conservatism is a winning strategy.

Most of the roll back of liberalism that has occurred, where it has occurred, is really due to the work of conservative think tanks. In this arena, it is ideas that count, backed by empirical evidence. Party numbers don't matter too much, unless things get really lop sided, and there is a coherent body of pent up legislative waiting to be sprung, ala 1965 after the Goldwater debacle, and the liberals finally gained control of congress for the first time since the court packing fight in 1937. What with the wonders of gerrymandering, and modern polling and media, and the like, it is unlikely that things will get lopsided for as far as my eye can see, certainly not for this decade.

There is a better way of reversing this mess than voting for Rinos, -- and you own it.

--- FR is part of the new media, and it's best use, imo, is in working against the liberal dogma you mention above.

Playing party politics is a futile game.

Jim, socialism is what is ruining the country. Socialism is rooted in both parties. The democrats and the republicans are both socialists when you get to the level of elected office.

The republicans have been telling this lie about having to pretend to be socialists to get elected ever since Reagan left office. Reagan ran as a conservative and won two landslides back to back. Wobbly rode Reagan's coattails into office and lost when he showed himself to be a liberal.

The revolution of '94 came about because the GOP let a lot of newcomers run on a conservative theme. Still, the GOP's analysts keep saying that conservatives can't win. The facts show differently. Everytime the GOP offers conservatism the electorate responds well to it, at least since Carter. Carter should have been the last democrat to hold office as president and he probably would have been had Reagan delivered and had Wobbly been conservative, and had the GOP found another conservative successor to Wobbly.

You're seeing this entirely differently than I am. We are on opposite coasts but the view shouldn't be that far out of whack.
