Yes, Dole had influence. You stay in the Senate for a few decades, you do garner influence. He was a major league loser who got the kool aid drinker's vote and gave us a second term of Clinton. What do you like about Hatch, his willingness to cosponsor bills with Feinstein?

I liked watching on CSPAN in judiciary committee hearings mostly. He also did some good work on pushing to deal with AIDS early on. He is a decent man, and totally honest and not dissembling. What you see, is what you get. He is not an amoral unprincipled political entrepreneur as some are.

The voters gave us a second term of Clinton. Any guesses as to who could've beaten Clinton in '96?

BTW, Dole's lifetime ACU-rating was 82.
