I am not optimistic, and yet it has nothing to do with the President. The country is not the president, it is
we the people. Sadly, we the people are still just as polarized and divided as we were in November of 2000 on election day. The whinning, carping, and undermining from all sides continue, despite 9/11 and the war/threats against us. And that's just 1/2 of the country - the rest are asleep and don't even bother to vote. We are at grave risk of falling in upon ourselves in confusion, mistrust, and in-fighting.
