The fact is that a rational immigration policy is possible.We do not need to debate the current policy.The big problem is the welfare state.We need a policy that says if you come you don't get any benefits.

This post is speculation and it is Reaganesque in it's optimism.

Yes it is. They should pay to come to America ($200K/ea, or serve in our military for 10 years), and have no welfare bennies. Then again, Americans should not have welfare bennies.

Keep in mind, the more pathetic losers we take from the world's cesspools, the more pressure there will be to continue the policy. These immigrants are not like the immigrants of 100 years ago. They come seeking freebies and to hold the very culture that repressed them, not to become Americans.
