Inmates are generally not interested in old-timers, except perhaps for extortion. Plus many systems segregate the old for their protection.

First post, excuse any errors. You might want to check out "You are going to prison" by Jim Hogshire (Loompanics Unlimited). Never been to jail myself, but according to the author, the guys chances of being left unmolested are pretty slim.
