Well, I don't remember the names of all the towns, but I remember the general route and many of the towns along the way.

Being as that you have lived in both California and Arizona, your present address, which state would you say is nicer to live in?

Talking with a family from Mission Viejo about illegal immigration, they acted as though the problem wasn't all that bad. Their mentality to be of the 1970s, for the man said, "it depends. You have your good areas and bad areas". The thing, though, is that most areas have this problem. It's not like one ghetto or whatnot, but it is a widespread problem across the L.A. basin, though the coastal areas, with the exception of Santa Monica, seemed to be the least effected.
I got off the Hollywood freeway at Santa Monica Boulevard and was in shock at the conditions of old Hollywood. Bars on the windows, litter on the street, advertisements all over the windows and some telephone polls, many signs in Spanish, etc. It looked more like Mexico than the United States. Of course, West Hollywood and Beverly Hills were a lot nicer, but I found it hard to believe that they let old town Hollywood become so depressed.

Plus New Mexico and Nevada.

"Mexico Wants Arizona Back "
Maybe, if they say "pretty please," we could get back to them later on their request.

Americans will become Mexico's worst nightmare before they ever hand over any part of this nation, this is what I believe. We don't have to hand anything over. The sheer numbers of Mexicans with their illegal votes will elect their own officials from the Governor down in the SW States and run them like Mexican colonies with Washington footing the bill.

Are there parts of Mexico in which the people appear more European than Indian? I know that the Mexicans that we've seen in the Atlanta area appear mostly Indian, yet when I was in the El Paso area, many of Mexicans with Chihuahua license plates seemed more European, though there were many Indians. You will find the European Mexicans in the power structures of the large cities. Vicente Fox, who would not look out of place walking down the street in Madrid, is an example.
Those individuals are the ones who are wealthy enough to be completely satisfied where they are and have no desire to leave their possesions and businesses in Mexico. These individuals do not sneak across the border. They drive their cars over, do their shopping on the U.S. side and then drive back to their nice house in Mexico.
It is the poor Mexican of Indian descent that travels all the way to Atlanta to earn a living.

In San Antonio, I saw a group of Mexican women (had a Mexican license plate) driving an expensive car. Is this what you are referring to, or perhaps to the Mexican citizens that I saw in El Paso?

That's an interesting map. What's also very interesting is the fact that Dalton, GA is now roughly 50% Mexican, perhaps more. It's school system is 75% Mexican, and we've had our state federal politicians in Dalton proposing that Mexican teachers be brought into the Dalton City School System to teach the children in Spanish. Absurd, huh. The invader and his children are being catered to, while they are effectively running the Americans out of town, and for those remaining American school kids in the Dalton City School System, they get the "benefits" of a lower quality, multicultural education.

Good to see you, Don. How have you been?

I am doing well. Besides working and hanging out at home, I don't do much. How about you?

Muslims threaten our way of life with terrorism and an exclusionary philosophy that doesn't fit in our culture. Mexicans merely want/are working toward replacing/displacing us. Separate but equal threats!

Being as that you have lived in both California and Arizona, your present address, which state would you say is nicer to live in? Arizona by far. I miss the beach, but I can always visit. People out here are friendlier, but it's a climate that is changing as well.
Another thing I notice here, even though we have the problems on our Southern boarder, the "aztlan" movement isn't as viscious or hostile here....yet. Even though we are being overrun, the attitude in that regard is much more mellow here (compared to California). We don't have the "in your face" protests yet, nor do we have our lives threatened (yet) if you look at them (the aztlaners) the wrong way. Yet.

Talking with a family from Mission Viejo about illegal immigration, they acted as though the problem wasn't all that bad. Their mentality to be of the 1970s, for the man said, "it depends. You have your good areas and bad areas". These are the types of people who keep themselves isolated in their tiny, gated communities and don't travel outside their tiny, little world. The world revolves around them, and if they don't see it, they believe it doesn't exist. There are many people like that who are in complete denial. My sister lives next door to a couple who are like this. The never go anywhere outside their neighborhood (only 2 miles away from a nasty bario), but all is well with them. If they go anywhere, they fly there.

Unfortunately, it's been like that for years. "Old Hollywood" died right after the 50's. Even though Santa Monica and Beverly Hills "appear" to be nice, I have friends in the local PD's that could tell you what goes on. They are surrounded by nasty areas. Lets just say, one won't get rich or get drug money if you rob a poor person.

I'm doing pretty well. I didn't realize that you lived in South Dakota. Have you always lived in South Dakota? I was out on vacation a couple of weeks ago, and that is why noone saw me for about three weeks. I had a good time, and I got to see this big beautiful country again. Wonderful, I tell you.
To: kstewskis
Yeah, ours aren't too in-your-face, yet. In Los Angeles, there must have been roughly ten Spanish FM radio stations, four independent Spanish television stations, as well as spanish newspapers and other Mexican publications. Assimilation doesn't appear to be working there, nor most places where large numbers of Mexicans are migrating.
To: kstewskis
You mean to tell me that the original part of Hollywood went downhill in the 1960s? It's been bad that long? I'll admit, the northern areas of Hollywood, near the bowl, as well as areas along the north and west, such as the Sunset Strip, aren't as depressed looking. However, the original Hollywood, to the south and east of the former locations, are somewhat blightful.
To: kstewskis
Well, this guy didn't deny that it didn't exist, for he informed me that there were places in the Los Angeles area that looked like Mexico. My point was that he acted as though it was a concentrated phenomenon, instead of the widescale problem. However, I know that most places don't look like Mexico, but with everything going on, many other areas are teetering on the brink of that possibility.
