Oh, come on. Texas can not compete with areas of extremely high humidity like Florida, Louisiana or Mississippi.

You must be thinking of west TX. I lived in El Paso years back and have seen a few 110 degree days. Although that isn't exactly a winter wonderland, I'd take that any day over the oppressive heat/humidity of east TX. Just a few years ago, I flew from San Fran to Houston in the middle of November. Even that late in the year, it felt as if I had walked into a sauna as I was leaving the airport.

Yes, another poster pointed out that Houston, which is on the Gulf Coast, has similar weather as Florida and Mississippi. I was thinking more of north and west Texas. The only reason I would ever live up north would be during summers in Florida ;-)
