Was at an airshow just after desert storm...lots of U.S. Aircraft ,...Aggressor F-16's from Nellis..to an F-111 "Ardvark" that had seen action.
Ground crews came with the aircraft..boy were they happy to chat it up with the crowd about "Their Birds".
Pilots flew the plane..but the ride was the ground crews Bird.
Came early..and found a spot opposite the flight line..it is something to hear them turn over...flare a bit..and taxi by.
2 F-15's had flown down from Anchorage Alaska..."Fast Pack" Intercepters...parked away from the flight line..they had armed guards posted...you could only snap a 300mm telephoto from a distance.
Photography at airshows is allways an adventure...an F-117 Stealth fighter was present..below the Pilots name was a "Grim reaper" logo..with the words..."Night Rider".
A friend is presently undergoing basic with the Air Force..He will be with the Airforce Police.
I could whoop him anytime of day ..but now..I think those times will be past.
No other info on the F-4..just found it..
