I think the point is that consumers get a better deal in markets with a "corporate monopolist" than they do in markets that are dominated by regulated monopolies.
The big lie is that regulating, re-regulating and then de-regulating industries serves consumers. I'm not sure why anyone would believe this, but some people are so sold on the idea that they actually believe that regulating Microsoft will open some magical doors in the software industry....As if industries with a regulated monopoly are so much more accessible to entrepreneurs. Weird thinking, if you ask me...

Consumers get the best deal in a fractured, competitive market where there's no monopolist influence at all.
Bust up the monopolies and restore competition to the market.
