"Or what if he was so worried about the fate of his beloved sister if he ever confessed that John Doe No. 2 was in fact hussein alhussani, the Iraqi identified by Jayna Davis?"

I have never seen a picture of Al-Hussaini. He did appear on local TV in OKC to announce his lawsuit. I wonder if a photo of his press conference ever made the local papers?

Any chance we could get a picture of Al-Hussaini posted on FreeRepublic? If anyone could provide me a source or a fax
I would be happy to post it.

Yeah, I saw that. John Gibson is my new hero for writing that excellent column. Too bad a lot of the other media people don't have enough brain cells to do the same.

Thanks for the correction, which in one way makes my point. I say we start saying Cassius Clay and Lew Alcinder and who else changed their names?

That seems likely.

Thanks for the welcomes! A couple quick replies to some of the comments in this thread, before I slink off to Lurkville for a while and start working on the story again:

Let's not be PC, use Padilla's real name: Abdullah Mujahir

Point well taken. I use Padilla a lot on my site because that was his name in most of the time frame I am writing about. Standard practice dictates that Muhajir is the correct way to refer to him (in news stories anyway).

A single citation on Dec. 28, 1994 ... It need not mean he was spending most of his time in Florida at the time. Are there earlier citations in '94?

There are, in the spring and summer. You're right that the citation doesn't mean he was there the whole time. On the other hand, it seems more productive to me (in the short-term) to investigate more fully on the period between 12/28/94 and 6/09/95, for obvious reasons. If there's evidence that can prove he's NOT John Doe 2, it is necessarily within that time frame.

My question is this. What if tommorrow or next week proof is presented that Padilla was in Florida from 17 April thru 19-April 1995? [--snip--] Why are we looking for another John Doe 2 until after Al-Hussaini is eliminated from the suspect list?

Question one: For me, that's probably the end of the road. I will keep going as long as the Padilla thread is alive.

I have been investigating this at my own expense and full-time, 12-16 hours a day, for a week. If I wanted to delve into OKC in a full investigation, it is very clear I could spend the entire rest of my life doing so. I have other things I want to do with my life.

That said, I also lack the experience, contacts or resources for a full-fledged, no-holds-barred investigation. And since I am not making money off this effort, I will need to refocus my priorities (at least temporarily) on paying the rent in about a month or so.

As far as al Hussaini, see the above answer. I was never looking for JD2 before this. I started examining the story because I thought the pictures raised a question about Padilla.

One reason I am getting traction investigating Padilla's connection is that I am staying very single-mindedly focused on investigating Padilla.

If I don't do that, I will end up running down into a million winding roads, sidetracks and pitfalls in this very complex story and lose track of the intial question that intrigued me in the first place.

I am confident, however, based on the AP story this week, among other things, that the truth about OKC's connection to extremist Islamic terrorists will come out -- regardless of the result of my work on this particular aspect.

Thanks for continuing to focus back on Hussain. The Padilla hype may very well inoculate the media into presenting all the information on Hussain. It would be great if we could figure out a way to put the side profile of Hussain and the side profile of John Doe #2 on Free Republic. One of the Fox programs that had Jayna Davis on it did just that. Then if we could do it as an overlay, it would be an exact match. (Some of us believe the side profile came from one of the security cameras and, according to the F.B.I., additional witness statements. It is not the same person as the frontal view John Doe #2, IMHO)

I am willing to do any of the grunt work necessary to get the photos posted on Free Republic, if I only knew where I could locate a picture of Hussain Alhussaini.

BDD from another thread:

While I will not have a great amount of time to tit for tat, back and forth on this question, I will paste, just one statement on the sketch's surrounding John Doe number two---I understand you may be another expert on the Oklahoma City bombing, but your analysis is incorrect on the two sketch's of John Doe Nubmer Two---below is one of many statements coming from trial documents, and statements of witness's to that morning---**************

John Doe Two was the thickset, swarthy suspect seen at Elliot's Body Shop in Junction City, Kansas, with Tim McVeigh. The two men arrived together to rent the Ryder bomb truck. McVeigh signed the rental contract, using the alias of Robert Kling, and chatted with the staff while John Doe Two waited in silence. There were actually two different sketches of McVeigh's accomplice. The first one, the one that was published on the front page of almost every newspaper in America, was so inaccurate that it was worse than useless. It was a frontal portrait of a thuggish-looking man with heavy jowls. But the witness had seen only a profile of the suspect, and the FBI artist had used a highly manipulative process of choosing faces from a catalog.

An outside sketch artist, Jean Boylan, was asked to try again. She drew a face that was finer, more handsome, with less of the gorilla about him. This was the real, "pretty-boy," John Doe Two. For almost three months he was the quarry of a massive manhunt by the FBI, or so America was led to believe. Then on June 14, 1995, the Justice Department announced that it had all been a big mistake. One of the witnesses, Eldon Elliot, had been confused when he gave his description of John Doe Two. He had mixed him up with Todd Bunting, a burly army private who came to the office a day later. (Eldon Elliot had not been the only witness, of course, but the FBI did not mention that at the time.***************

Regards, Stmoritz.

In the previous reply where I quote an old BlueDogDemo reply, all of the words were BDD's, mainly directed at Shooter 2.5.

After re-reading it, it appears someone may be critizing Nancie Drew. That is not the case at all.

Apologies to all.

Did we forget John Doe 2?

I pulled the BlueDogDemo quote from reply #22 from this linked thread. Please refer to that thread for the correct context.

It is good to have BlueDogDemo on again, even if it is an old post. One witness that. Jean Boylan worked with was Debbie Nakanashi (sp?). I do not recall Debbie saying in her interviews that she only saw the person in profile. (If anyone knows differently, please correct me.) Jean took her information, spent a lot of time with her, and decided to do the picture in profile. The question I have for Jean is, “Why would you want to do the sketch in profile?” Was it because the FBI had John Doe #2 only in profile on the security camera as he exited the Ryder truck? Jean has gone on national TV to say that the person Debbie saw has never been pursued. I commend her for speaking out on that point. In Jean’s book, she gives her version of how the sketch was generated. I do not have the information with me right now, so I do not remember exactly what she said. I can be sure of one thing, though. She did not indicate that any information came from a security camera. Jean does get a lot of her work from the FBI, so I am sure she was very careful how she penned her book on this point.

Another interesting point that BDD made was that on June 14, 1995, an announcement was made by the Justice Department that Todd Bunting was John Doe #2. They actually had pulled the John Doe #2 tip line a few days earlier. The tip line for John Doe #2 was pulled three or four days after Jayna Davis went to the FBI with surveillance pictures of Hussain al Hussaini. One of these pictures was in profile. Did they pull the tip line because they now knew who the profile sketch was?

I wonder if the John Doe #1 sketch came from a security camera? How close is McVeigh to the sketch? If you did an overlay, would they be an exact match? I have never taken the time to do that

That's info I never was aware of Nancie Drew. Thanks for pointing out the possibility of it.

Thanks. It's an interesting puzzle. Just when I think I am finally up against a brick wall, some new piece emerges. Even it's JP is not JD2, there's a hell of a lot of interesting connections between JP and OKC.
