The whole 'Blood Diamond' scenario is being pushed by Canadian diamond explorers to attract investment interest to Canadian companies.

It's working.(I work for a company exploring for diamonds, among other things)

Canadian diamonds are being 'branded' in various ways.(polar bear inscribed on girdle, for instance)

Conflict diamonds are NOT indistinguishable; every source of diamond has a unique chemical signature.

They're indistinguishable to me - I just can't tell a Canuck diamond from a terrorist diamond, so I'll just boycott all diamonds. And I'm suspicious of you guys anyway ;)
