Here's the new thread, all ready for Thursday.
Testimony recently discussed includes fingerprint evidence, as well as Westerfield's clean laundry. The Van Dam home was (strangely) devoid of fingerprints, except for a couple of latents that didn't match any of the pizza party people or, apparently, David Westerfield.
Westerfield's motorhome didn't contain any of his fingerprints, but did have one print from Danielle L. (the daughter of Westerfield's ex-girlfriend), Jennifer (a friend of Danielle L.), and a partial from Danielle Van Dam.
The prosecution said yesterday that they would be finished "in seven court days".
A lot of people think that's Damon, but I think it's Barb.
20 A. I PUT A GATE IN FRONT OF DANIELLE'S ROOM AND I
21 ASKED THEM NOT TO GO IN THERE.
22 Q. WHY?
23 A. BECAUSE I DID NOT WANT IT TOUCHED.
So, the we must be her, or the I, we.....will add more about gate as we find them....thanks let freedom sing!
BVD found door open at 9:00am.....first thing she saw was the bean bag chair on the bed....maybe Derrick saw door open and didn't realize Danielle wasn't there cuz of the bean bag chair and didn't think much about an open door.
DVD was questioned regarding a statement he made to police...put Layla in Derricks room when he and BVD went to bed..thinks he let her out to do her duty about 3:30...if that were the case...he would have walked by her door then....he doesn't recall saying that or if it happened.
So I put her in Derrick's room where she had a
7 bed to sleep on.
19 Q. Didn't you tell the police that at 3:30 you went 20 downstairs to let the dog out and check the door?
4 Q. Then if it's at 3:30, in order for you to get the
5 dog outdoors, you'd have to open Derrick's room; is that
6 right, to let the dog out?
7 A. Yes.
If DW/perp left leaving the sliding glass door open, then when DvD went back upstairs, her door should've been wide open. right? Does the VD security alarm chirp when a door gets opened? If a door opened AFTER DvD locked the doors and went to bed, the alarm system would've blinked or chirped or something.
I'm still trying to figure out how ANYONE (other than DvD) got Danielle out of the house.
Personal observation: We have 3 boys under 10, and they and their friends rarely go up or down the stairs without sliding their hands along the handrail the entire way. Not just touch it for balance, actually slide. Since this would "polish" the rail on a daily basis and thus wipe clean any prints along the top of the entire railing, I would think that the unID'd print on the VD staircase would be very fresh, and like you, very significant. This print would indicate that someone other than the family and the pizza partiers was in that house very, very recently to the forensic team's work, and evidence of a stranger in the house (or at least unidentified person) around the time of the abduction ought to be of the utmost importance (IMHO). Why the LE are passing it (and the unID on the glass sliding door) off as irrelevant is beyond me.
I didn't see blowups of the cards (were they shown?), but exactly how partial a partial was this print from Danielle VD? And is a partial considered to be as reliable an identifier as a complete print?
"that ID's hair tangled in Danielle hand belongs to DW. Haven't heard this on San Diego stations, but did hear it twice this AM on LA station KTLA.
Anybody else hear this? "
Anyone on this board hear this either. Until confirmed by a freeper, I will reserve judgement...
Until it is introduced into the trial as evidence, and stands up to cross-examination, it isn't going to get me to move! But I posted it as my little find of the morning...
