Mr Sobran got it wrong. Dylan did not hide his leftist views. Ron Radosh who knew Dylan in Minneota states that Dylan was never interested in politics. Dylan's writings are apolitical and are more directed at social and spiritual issues facing mankind.
In 1968 a lefty photographer named Elliott Landy was at Dylan's Woodstock home. He and Dylan talked for hours one day. Landy said that Dylan's views were so conservative that he would never repeat what he heard that night.
