Do they honestly think they are "winning" with this strategy?

Who is "they"? And if you mean the
"palestinians" then yes, it is working for them. Even Sharon wants them to have their own state.

Which 'they' are you referring to?

If you are referring to the Palestinians, the bombers think they are going to heaven by their actions (as a matter of fact, dying fighting for Allah is, according to their beliefs, the only way to be assured of salvation), and their leadersn are in bed with the Marxists who are taking them down the path of "make things so unbelievably bad that the mass will rise up in violent revolution against the oppressors".

If you are referring to Israel, I think they realize that appeasement hasn't worked. They are realizing now that their measured responses so far haven't worked. Hopefully, they will soon try the "time to exterminate the terrorists and their agitators completely" approach.

And if you mean our administration, see my comments about Israel.

Yes, I think they do honestly think they are winning.

I'm not sure they are wrong.

Israel has yet to show that they are willing to unleash fire and sword upon the "Palestinians" until their spirit is broken and they are willing to live in peace with the Jewish state.

I think the reason Israel has not done this is because they can't-a majority of the population would not support a government that would exterminate the population of Jenin, for example.

Since the "Palestinians" appear to support the extermination of the Jews, and the Jews will not countenance the extermination of the "Palestinians", then, over time, the Jews may very well be losing.

Yep, Howlin; I do believe they think they are winning with this strategy. I think they will keep up these attacks with increasing severity and frequency so as to "goad" Israel into action. Then Israel will pull out all the stops.

But what would likely happen next? Why, the politically correct "international community" would come down on Israel like a ton of bricks: "Bad Israel -- how dare she defend herself??? Look at all those innocent Palestinian women and children she's murdering. She is perpetrating a holocaust of the innocents."

The Pals think they can beat Israel by manipulating "enlightened world opinion" so as to further isolate and destabilize that nation. A point would sooner or later be reached when Israel's own domestic Left wing starts bawling out loud (actually, that's already started); then the resolve to defend herself and save the nation may simply dissolve.

What is needed to win this war, as Bibi Netanyahu said to our Congress shortly after 9-11, is moral clarity. But that's the very thing the Pals are trying to "fudge up." Consider the statement of Tuesday's Hamas suicide-bomber-du-jour: "To kill the infidel is a beautiful thing, to be killed oneself is a beautiful thing." What kind of morality does that express?

First Israel. Then guess who's "next." JMHO FWIW. -- bb

Well, let's see. This morning FoxNews was reporting that GW Bush was planning a speech in which he would propose an "interim" Palestinian state. This is the day after the bus bombing that killed several high school age students. The speech may be delayed, but there was no mention of GWB changing his mind.

The Bush Doctrine is correct. It's just too bad that GW Bush doesn't follow it in regards to the "Palestinians".
