As for balance, the inclusion of the Christian children as well as the interview with Rev Falwell went a lot further than what I typically see on the news networks (Fox, CNN, MSNBC, etc).

The problem here is that Nickolodean is a kid's show. Our cildren are being bombarded with alternative agendas. Their opinion of "fair and balanced" or "age apropriate topics" isn't necessarily the same of a parent. These are issues that need to be dealt with by parents. I consider myself very open minded. I don't care what other people do in thier private lives. I have a problem when someone else is trying to influence my children. Children are OFF LIMITS!

I use the TV as a facilitating tool. Sometimes a show can do a more thorough job at explaining a topic. With this show, we discussed, beforehand, what can define a family. As we watched the show, we pointed out that some children are raised in families with 2 moms or 2 dads. Afterwards, we discussed if it was fair to be mean to other kids that have families that are different than ours.

This is what I thought was the point of the show. If you don't agree, that's fine, but I think you may have missed out on a opportunity to talk about hatred.

And as usual, unless you are the kind of parent that does not monitor your child's viewing habits, you could always turn off the TV.
